the regulars of this section seem to hold a lot of different opinions to those in other sections, maybe more demanding of fighters, many of you arent too active in other sections to get your opinions on more recent stuff
so just curious, which active pros now (so no floyd ) do you regard highly?

I actually regular post in other sections also, but I'll comment.
Pacquiao is still active, he's obviously a legend, future HFer and the best p4p boxer of 2000s after Mayweather.
Usyk for sure is a one to be mentioned in the first rows due to his recent accomplishments. #2 after Holyfield in the all time CW rankings.
Lomachenko. That's also pretty obvious choice.
Crawford. I believe, this guys is on the way to enter Leonard's league.
Golovkin. He will be top 8-10 MW of all time. He's a somewhat of Hopkins caliber champion. I rate Hopkins #7 in the list, btw.
Canelo, Spence and Garcia are also realising some huge potential, but for the moment in the lower extent, I'd say.
Joshua. I was very sceptical to this guy since he was awarded a victory at the Olympics. He was given a lot of credit in advance and was promoted very well, he became a champion while he still had a lot to learn, he was a prospect. But he's improving. He has pretty good resume for the moment, which is the best among active fighters. In my opinion, Povetkin is the last test for him.

And, of course, I should mention Kovalev. He already has a solid legacy, which can be improved.

I think Lomachenko and Crawford are great fighters and will go down in history with some of the greats. I am very high on Usyk too whom I consider a great fighter but not quite on the level of those two. I rate Golovkin as an excellent fighter but I need to see him do more to be considered great. I'd probably have him towards the lower end of the top 20 Middleweight's currently.
Inoue is looking very, very good too possibly even great. I think the likes of Mikey Garcia, Spence, Joshua have the look of top fighters but I think they will not be remembered as great fighters. I think they'll fall just short of being remembered in history as such.
As a reference as to what I consider great and very good in recent fighters as follows : -
Great
Mayweather
Pacquaio
Marquez
Hopkins
Very good
Wladimir Klit
Cotto
Ward
Mosley

I like the names mentioned.
Whomever comes out on top between Joshua and Wilder should be good for some braggin' rights I reckon.

I rate plenty of modern fighters highly. Super Flyweight and Cruiserweight in particular are currently better than they've ever been.

I went through this "everything sucks now" phase years ago. Stepping away from the sport for a while did wonders for my objectivity when I decided to reinvest my interests in it again over the past year or so. We're in the midst of a pretty damn good era right now.
Super Fly specifically just keeps getting stronger. Even with Inoue's departure and Gonzalez's fall, Nietes has just stepped up and Ioka has just returned from a brief retirement. Hopefully they can participate in the coming tourney.
The divisional tournament format is hands down the best thing about boxing today. Unbelievable that it's taken this long to get that idea through on the main stage.
