3 ways this is gonna go now:

1. -Stevenson asks for unification with Alvarez. WBC accepts.
-Avarez beats Stevenson, Alvarez vacates WBC belt because "money not there with fight with Gvozdyk". Michel keeps WBO
belt with Alvarez, keeps milking it in Quebec. Stevenson retires.
-OR Alvarez vs. Stevenson is dubbed as a "close" fight. Stevenson blames the WBC for "not accepting a rematch that
everyone wants to see". Vacates WBC belt.

2. - Stevenson vacates WBC belt because WBC doesn't accept the unification fight as a replacement for the mandatory defence against Gvozdyk.
- Stevenson claims that he wants to test himself against the top of the division. Michel banks dat in house Quebec money.

Or Stevenson fights no one and rematches Jack. I absolutely despise Stevenson. Guy has to be one of the worst champions in the history of boxing. He was supposed to fight Pascal, Hopkins, Alvarez, and Ward. He fought none of them while Kovalev was busy trying to clean out the division.

I'm sure Stevenson is not keen on fighting Gvozdyk. I don't think Jack is either. Jack also ducked Bivol.

No one deserves to hold a belt hostage. Stevenson has to fight Gvozdyk or get stripped last I read btw.

Alvarez needs to fight Bivol ASAP. Stevenson needs to fight Gvozdyk and Jack needs to go to the back of the line.

Stevenson won't fight Alvarez after what Alvarez did in Kovalev fight. Stevenson actually has more potential to finally fight Kovalev. They both almost moved to the cathegory of the division's past.

Alvarez/Stevenson is the best fight to make in the LHW division right now. Gvozdyk is very good but he has done dick-all since the Chilemba fight that put him on the map.

Its not the best fight to make. Stevenson is arguably not even in the top 5 of best Light Heavyweights. The best fight to make in the division would be Bivol-Alvarez. Second/third best would be those two against Beterbiev or Gvozdyk

I guess, it was slowly going to Kovalev-Bivol. Kovalev now lost, but actually Alvarez-Bivol will be the same interesting, the fight should be made.

How would fighting Alvarez a duck?

i would kind of prefer stevenson-gvodzyk to get a better idea of how legit gvodzyk is. i think hes been waiting around for the shot?

either fight would be good though. winner to fight whoever gets left out

Alvarez has certainly proven himself to be one of the best light heavies in the world.

Fighting him is a positive, not a duck.

At 40, Stevenson deserves to slip into retirement in whatever way he chooses. If he gets beat, so be it. But no one should point a gun at him at this point.

Totally disagree. Bivol looked pretty ordinary against Chilemba and while Stevenson's competition has generally been mediocre, I think he looked solid in the Jack fight and showed he's still at or near the top level. If Stevenson fought Kovalev tomorrow I'd pick Stevenson, and that definitely wasn't the case 2 years ago.

Gvozdyk could end up being the best of the bunch but the quality of his opposition has made Stevenson's look impressive. Which is kind of why I like the idea of a Kovalev/Gvozdyk fight now, to prove where he's at.

pretty much everyone looks ordinary against chilemba tbf, alvarez and kov and bellew for example looked even worse. bellew (who you seem to rate highly) even needed a second fight to get the win and alvarez only got a majority decision that shouldve been 115-113 at absolute widest. a lot of people had chilemba winning that.

the guy who looked the best you now want to prove himself more before getting a shot hes been mandated for.....how about just that fight happens and we see where gvodzyk is at vs a top opponent?

alvarez vs stevenson is a very good fight though, but still personally im more interested in seeing where gvodyzks at, and then the winner fights alvarez

If you thought Kovalev, Bivol, Gvozdyk, and Beterbiev are the best LHW's, and you still think Alvarez is not among the division's best even after he beat Kovalev, you probably have an extreme pro-slavik bias.

At Bivol looking ordinary against Chilemba. Why is Chilemba so underrated? The man's resume is strong, and he's beaten some very good fighters. Hell, I had him beating Alvarez.

Chilemba is definitely one of those fighters that would be a champion in a weaker era. No one has had an easy time against him. HBO is also full of idiots if they thought Bivol was going to come in and just stop him easily. Seems this forum has people that also buy into the narrative.

I would prefer to see a WBC/WBO title unification bout between GYM/Al Haymon stablemates Adonis Stevenson and Eleider Alvarez, instead of two separate bouts involving: Stevenson-Gvozdyk; and Alvarez-Kovalev II.

I don't mean to be that hard on Bivol. Chilemba is tough to look good against. But at the same time, Chilemba is not a threat to actually beat anyone in the top 10. Stevenson is over 40 and if there will ever be a time for him to make a big fight it is now. Thus Alvarez/Stevenson is the fight I wanna see. Bivol is just entering his prime and his resume is still on the lighter side, I don't need to see him fight for the #1 spot immediately.
