Get ready for yet another WBA heavyweight champion!

This is not a joke. BJ Flores, last seen being destroyed by Tony Bellew in a 2016 cruiserweight world title fight, is scheduled to fight somebody called Trevor Bryan for the WBA interim heavyweight title.
Trevor Bryan has never fought a contender and his last three opponents have 77 losses between them. Oh and he's boxed only twice in the last two years.
Just to remind you, this fight has been put together as the WBA supposedly attempts to reduce its number of "heavyweight champions".
Fightnews: The World Boxing Association (WBA) interim heavyweight championship will now be on the line Saturday night when undefeated Trevor Bryan (19-0, 13 KOs) and B.J. Flores (34-3-1, 21 KOs) square off at the Celebrity Theater in Phoenix, AZ, it was announced by promoter Don King. The interim title was approved since the pending WBA heavyweight championship pitting Manuel Charr and Fres Oquendo is currently in litigation. That fight is tentatively scheduled for September 29, but the courts will decide if the bout actually moves forward.

So how many are there ? The winner of this one, then there's AJ, then there's Charr. Is that it, back to 3 ?

Does WBA do that? I know WBC will grant guys that "Champion Emeritus" status, but I don't know of other Title orgs doing that.

Don King still has friends low places.
The WBA heavyweight rankings are funnier than a prime Richard Pryor. Gulliermo Jones, BJ Flores and a bloke that hasn't fought for four years.

Yeh, WBA use champion in recess. Lebedev is currently it.
Don’t think Fury is though.

I think it's a good idea to have plenty of WBA heavyweight champions. It's like having lots of pens around the house - means you can always find one when you need one, even if a few get lost. And Trevor is now the second-best Trevor ever to hold a version of the world heavyweight title.

The WBA are farcical and have drastically watered down their position as a governing body.
