2016 Olympic Gold Medalist at 200 pounds Evgeny Tishchenko will make his pro debut on August 19 on a German Titov fight card in Ekaterinburg:

He's already 27 so he should be on a fairly fast track to be fighting some quality opposition in a couple years.

So are you saying Tishchenko wont be good enough to become a world-class pro cruiserweight?

Was he gifted with all those World, European and Russian National Championship golds and silvers too?

I say Tishchenko will be good enough to make global impact at cruiser as a professional. If you believe otherwise state your prediction and we'll see how his pro career turns out over the course of time. Anyone can throw stones...but what's your actual PREDICTION for his success as a pro?

Tishchenko shows good hand speed here in beating Cuban star Erislandy Savon for the 200# gold medal at the 2015 World Championships in Doha, Qatar (audio is out of sync with video but entire bout is there):

If you predict he will be another "Fraudley" Harrison feel free to go on record here, so we can go back and reference this thread when the time comes.

all i said was he got a massive gift in the gold medal match , which is true, that.

if you construed my post as even suggesting hell be a nobody as a pro, isnt good, got gifted with all his other wins, etc, then you need to learn how to read

bit sensitive over your guys arent you :yay:

hes good but hes left it late and im not really sure how his style suits the pros, well see how it goes

Like many Eastern bloc fighters he did wait rather long (27) to turn pro and that does put him at a definite disadvantage. Hopefully for his sake he doesnt waste more time as a pro like Beterbiev has.

Beterbiev is probably the textbook example of how to fritter away your best years as a pro (turned pro at 28, only 12 bouts by age 33). If Tishchenko goes that route then his pro career will be a colossal waste. :brick:

But I think his hand speed will be a big plus as a pro if he stays busy.
