See Mayorga take 2 Trinidad left hooks!

Mayorga is one crazy dude.
Keep in mind, this is the first round. Vargas was almost Ko'd by a left hook like that in the first round.

Mayorga wobbled a bit from the second one. You can tell, because he steps back a bit, and his right ankle bends. His head was probably spinning from that (not surprising

).
Mayorga is definitely a wildman, I heard he took a beating though. I can't believe the fight wasn't shown over here.

The second one was a trademark hook from Tito brought out of a crouch. Maximum power. And Mayorga took it... on the side of the chin too!!
He didn't crumble like Takaloo (Tak was hit with lesser power). He didn't go down like the majority of Titos opponents.
Amazing.
He was hurt though, and I think this contributed to his beating. Apparently he was wobbling moments later in the round too.

I think that clip shows that Mayorga's madness isn't an act. He has a chin though, i'll give him that much.

he wobbled a little but purely cos the force of the shot would move anyone. he wasn't hurt...although at the end of the round a right had him hurt.
Yeah, his whole persona is for real...Toney feels the need to shout his head off every press conference just to get attention.
Mayorga is one of my fav fighters....he's so cool. Just imagine him at those street races he puts on, smoking a cigar, drinking beer and eating chicken. Lej!

The main difference with this one to the one Takaloo took was Mayorga saw it coming, Tak didn't. It may have been less power , but if you don't see it coming and are moving onto the shot then you'll get knocked out

I see what you're saying but Mayorgas chin is ridiculously better than Takaloos. What a chin that guy has to let Tito tee off on him with 2 hooks and still stay upright!

Yes, that makes a massive difference. in fact, you are probably much less likely to get KO'd when you offer your chin, as you can brace yourself for the shot. The shot Tak took caught him at the point where he was fully committed to his own shot and he leant into the punch too. I defy anyone at the weight to take a punch like that and not go down and out.

Looks like Ricardo was gunning for an unusual first round knockout of himself.

Tak was throwing a punch at the same time too, which increases the impact

I'd say that Wayne hits as hard as Trinidad. Wayne doesn't seem to even put any effort into his shots, yet he still sends them to sleep!

Not sure about that Trinidads technique is a lot better.
I doubt very much Wayne would have KO'd Mayorga with that shot, would prob have put him down but not knocked him out.

Just shows what an idiot Mayorga is....My guess is he knew he had no chance and was going to get beat so tried to get a few browny points from the fans fo taking Titos shots etc...

Yeah, Tak was moving in, throwing a shot and tilted with his chin showing just enough for Wayne to catch him luvly – absolutely right on the button.
Tell you what though, did anyone notice how quick Tak came round. He jumped out of the ring as if there was nothing wrong with him. Think the fact he lost to Alexander hurts 10-times more than that punch. He also said he wasn't actually out for long and remembers everything apart from the punch but that the landing actually woke him up and that everyone rushing into the ring made it look worse than it was and they made him lie down even though he wanted to get up. He reckons the punch did about a million brain cells in one go though but that when he spoke to a family member in his native tongue that the relative asked how come his pronunciation had improved – he thinks it might have actually jogged his memory.
Oh, and he's desperate for a rematch!!!

The punch Tak got hit with would've knocked down a wall.

Best shot I've seen live but Wayne's been doing that since the amateurs. Getting hurt than splatting someone. I watched him against Sven Hamer, a lad from Broadstairs, and Sven was hurting him and everytime he would look like he was gonna finish him, 'whack' - Wayne would put him down. I think he was on the verge about three times but just kept landing with seemingly innocous shots but the last time, you'd have though Sven had been hit by an iron rod.
Tak knows he was silly rushing in but said he could see in Wayne's eyes how hurt he was and he just left himself open. He reckons any half-decent fighter who boxes Wayne with a bit of fear and carefully targets Wayne's body, will do him easily. He reckons he's shot.

Tak will be more shot than Wayne after that knockout!!

Spoke to Tak since and he seems to be putting a brave face on things actually. Knows he won't get a rematch but would love one.
Says that he's one of these fighters who seems to have to learn the hard way and that it showed he's got to have more patience. Reckons he got cut in a clinch when Wayne raised a forearm to him. He put his foot on the accelerator when he saw his blood on Wayne's forearm (had 5 stitches after and was in a nasty place right over the eyebrow) and thought 'oh no, not again' and went for him.
Even then, he said he couldn't believe how easy the fight was and how when he hurt Wayne to the body, he couldn't quite believe it hurt him so much becasue he didn't feel it was a particularly hard shot and he said he thought he could see the strength just 'go' from Wayne. Well, maybe, but unless Wayne's on his back staring up at the ceiling, he's got the power to knock anyone out, as Tak found in devastating fashion.
You say Tak will be more shot and you may well be right, but Wayne got flattened by Mellis, knocked down by Howard Clarke, badly hurt by Tak (he actually let out a scream in the corner after the fight was stopped) yet now he's looking at world title shots.
It's a very long road back for Tak after that, but believe me, a good fighter will beat Wayne, especially if they can bang to the body. He just can't take it down there. However, with his power, there's a ?-mark hanging over all his fights until the ref raises the other guy's hand.
Don't blame him wanting a big money fight though cos the fact is he could lose to anyone on recent form. Was hardly a new and improved Wayne in there against Tak, don't care how hard many hills he runs up in Belfast.

Maybe not new and improved but certainly in top form after a long hard training camp.

Top form for one punch only but hey, that was more than enough for one night. Otherwise, slow, reaching with his punches, easy to hit and alarmingly vulnerable. If Tak's left to the body had landed first, it would have been over and done with but there you go, such are the margins in boxing.
From ringside, where I was sitting it looked like Wayne was in for a hiding to be honest (Boxing News reporters and Dean Powell all felt the same too).

I actually thought Alexander looked more than comfortable up until that body shot landed. He was clearly anticipating a longer fight.

Are you talking about the left that Tak was throwing at the same time as Alexanders' bomb? Because that punch was never going to get underneath Waynes right arm.

I agree , Alexander isn't going to change that much, but fitness can get you through. It did him well changing training camps to N. Ireland.
and Kilburn you almost had to eat your keyboard, Williamson did better than you thought

Wayne has always looked pretty ragged but thats because he loads up on his shots. Who wouldnt with that power?
