Who would win in 15 rounds for the WBA Heavyweight title between Jimmy Ellis, who won the vacant title in 1968 or Mike Weaver, who won the title in a comeback win over "Big" John Tate in 1980? In my opinion, Ellis would out-box Weaver all around the ring with his quick jab and combinations to take a 15 round decision. However, Ellis could not underestimate Weaver's miracle comeback who may have a puncher chance like against Tate and should counter him. What is your opinion? :box:

I slightly favour Ellis. It could have probably been close fight, but Ellis just would have been too slick for Weaver.

Yes, Ellis would have been too slick for Weaver and should not be lure into a knockout punch from Weaver. :TU:

Ellis could win a decision, but could get coldcocked by Weaver if he isn't careful.

You're right, Ellis should box Weaver on the outside with his jabs and combinations and not ended up like "Big" John Tate. :TU:
