Been a long time coming. Berchelt should stomp Roman, but Roman getting that upset over Salido was a hell of a win.

I do think Berchelt is the best at 130 lbs. currently. He beats everyone.

Roman will take some savage beating in this. Hopefully this open doors for Lomachenko,Davis or Garcia to face Berchelt :box: :box: :box:

Berchelt isn’t messing around here. He’s destroying sparring partners.

I still hope it can happen. Lola did not unify in the lower weights. He’s going straight into unification at lightweigh.

Berchelt looked rusty the first 3 rounds. Fighting those no-hopers probably did a bit of damage to his skills, but he dominated after. Looked very strong and powerful. Roman has an inhuman level of heart. The man just kept coming and getting up. Respect to him. He's a Mexican warrior.

The fight was good. Berchelt outclassed Roman, broke him down, but Roman showed a true warrior spirit, how only he could take all that punishment and continue to fight. He even lasted for a round longer, than I had thought, he would last.

Hell, Roman is the real life Rocky. Still like him for that Salido fight. But he was just outclassed by better boxer. So, what is next for Berchelt ?

The announcers were too busy commending Roman for his gift of taking hellacious beatings than to acknowledge the tremendous skills Berchelt displayed. I'd LOVE to see him and Loma go at it. That would be fantastic.

This came to mind due to a thread about the ultimate Enlish warrior over on British & Irish.

Berchelt reminds me of a mini Carl Froch. Good, not great, skills and chin. Huge heart. Never say die spirit.

I agree with others on here; Loma v Berchelt is the fight. Kind of like Froch v Bute, it seems inevitable.

I think froch had a great chin.

I set that one up. :OhYes:

Froch had a great chin relative to all boxers, but there is a next level of chin to greatness, imo.

Froch’s greatness was in his recuperative powers, along the lines of JMM. He could be dropped, even seriously hurt, but he had that keen awareness / survival mind to be able to navigate the haze that is next to unconsciousness, find cover for the short time he needed to recover.

Like JMM, part of that ability was his gift of being able to fight his way out of the haze.; to strike back when all seems lost.

I only ever saw Carl hurt against groves. I agree Marquez didn't have a great chin. Don't get either comparison here.
