Dillian Whyte to fight in December 2018

Dillian Whyte has emerged as the favourite to face Anthony Joshua in April
Dillian Whyte is "favourite" to face Anthony Joshua at Wembley in April, with
Dereck Chisora on a three-man shortlist for the British heavyweight's next fight in December.
Promoter Eddie Hearn insists Joshua is refusing to look past his dangerous Russian challenger, but a rematch with Whyte has emerged as the most likely option for his first world title defence of 2018 after WBC champion Deontay Wilder turned his attention to a fight with Tyson Fury.
"As it goes right now, he's [Whyte] the favourite, because Wilder won't communicate with us, or his team," Hearn said.
"At the moment, that [Wilder] fight looks impossible, because how can we get it made, if they won't reply?"
Whyte is expected to fight again at the end of the year, with a rematch against Chisora the preferred option, although Hearn is also considering
Dominic Breazeale and
Jarrell Miller as potential opponents.
"Out of the three, it's the fight the British public want," said Hearn.
"I think Chisora has earned the rematch, to be honest. He looked finished against (Agit) Kabayel and then he produced that performance against (Carlos) Takam from the gods. How can you deny him the opportunity of a rematch?
"What Dillian has got to decide is, if we sign that Joshua fight after the Povetkin fight for Dillian, what sort of fight does he want in between? Does he want a risk fight?
"He probably does, but I would be happy to take him to America, give him a run out over there before the April fight."
Whyte is only focusing on his next scheduled fight, despite talk of another showdown with Joshua, and would happily share the ring with Chisora, Breazeale or Miller.
------------------
"The AJ fight is a possibility, but at the minute it's just a possibility," Whyte told Sky Sports.
"It's not certain, there's no 'yeah it's a definite'. My next fight is a definite date, so I focus on a definite date, and wait to see what comes of the AJ fight and if it comes off.
"Any of those three are big fights, and they are all hard fights. Any one of them, I'll be happy with.
"Me and him [Chisora] went to the war. Yeah, I can understand [public demand], but everyone has to remember this is a business. We're going to wait and see whether or not it's feasible for me and for him, because sometimes money and finance get in the way.
"I would love to fight him and knock him out. We'll see."
Asked about Breazeale, Whyte added:
"If he isn't fighting Wilder, or AJ, I'm the next money man down, so of course he's keen.
"When I wanted to fight him last year, he wasn't keen, was he? Now things have changed. I've become one of the bigger draws in the heavyweight division, so everyone wants to fight now."

That's what up I got from that. Hearns had a hard on for the Whyte rematch since the first fight ended!
I kinda hope Povetkin chins him now. I'm bored of it all now!

Yup, I've seen what Finkel has to say and I believe him, not Hearn. And all this "Whyte is the fight the fans want to see" is bollox.

I take everything that smug cùnt says with a pinch of salt. All his fan boys on the YouTube comments section genuinely rile me! Eddie fans first, boxing fans second! 2 you tubers earning millions from a 'fight'!!! What the fukk is wrong with folk nowadays!

I really could not give a toss about a Whyte rematch. He doesn’t deserve it, and he’d get even more soundly trounced a second time.

Can see the build up now! 'It's 1-1 between them', 'this is the decider', 'genuine beef', 'local pride' blah blah yawn!
I hope Sasha ices the big humble bastard next month!

I'm not against any of the bouts. Chisora 2, Breazeale, Miller - every can be fun to watch.

All I got from all of that is now Whyte has had a taste of PPV money he wants more. Plus no doubt Eddie feels bad he hasn't given him a big payday for a couple of weeks so of course he deserves it. My only hope is a motivated Chisora flattens him & derails the smug prick's plans for AJ/ Whyte 2 next year.

No interest in AJ Whyte 2.
Joshua needs new names, obviously Wilder being the main one! No point going over old ground especially when the first fight wasn’t that competitive really and since then Joshua has probably improved just as much as Whyte has.
Dillian went life and death with Chisora and Parker. Joshua barely lost a round against Parker. Levels
If Joshua is going to fight regardless of Wilder, then he needs to get out more often imo. This twice a year stuff isn’t for me. Why can’t he “squeeze” 3/4 in? He’s not 38. If they are talking Whyte and Miller, Joshua could deal with them both before the Summer next year and hopefully insist on Wilder/Fury.

I don’t mind Joshua. He’s not my favourite boxer but if it takes him losing/getting knocked out, just to knock Hearn down a peg or 2, then i’m up for it. Don’t need to see AJ-Whyte rematch.
Whyte said in the past he’d like to fight AJ a total of 5 times in his career. What’s the point. He’s gonna get beat again, who’d wanna see a 3rd.
I wish Wilder fought and KO’d Whyte already.
Thing is, is Hearn put’s Whyte-Chisora in December, I bet he puts it on PPV.

Personally think Joe Joyce would be a great watch, but obvs. this will never happen.
I voted DelBoy - that was a savage battle that anyone would see again. The betting would be way closer than whatever 'stay-busy' knockover job he gets too.

I don't really understand the logic of wanting AJ to get KOd just because Hearn is a bit of a prick.
Mcguigan practically robbed Frampton, who he once considered family, yet I don't see anyone wishing ill towards Taylor because of it.
Frank has shat on boxing fans with his abandonment of allegedly, yet I see no ire directed towards Saunders or Warrington.

There is a difference between Joshua and Taylor, Saunders, Warrington.

Yes he does, and I understand why Hearn isn't very well liked.
But the logic of wanting AJ to get KOd still makes no sense as it would make fights we want to see him in (Wilder, Fury) less likely to happen.
It's like cutting your nose off to spite your face.

I want Whyte to fight Breazeale for the official mandatory spot with the WBC and then pursue that belt to put pressure on Wilder.
I’m not all that bothered about Joshua v Whyte 2. I can acknowledge that in beating Parker he has put himself right up there to probably get a mandatory spot with one of the other bodies (WBO most likely) and is also one of the most credible heavyweights out there.
I hope he sees pushing for a Wilder fight and winning as a good way of getting a higher percentage in a fight v AJ which will inevitably happen if he keeps winning.
The point on Ortiz has already been answered. You’d have to have rocks in your head to take that fight to get made mandatory for a shot that will happen in 2 years time. Push for the Breazeale fight so that it happens in the next 6-9 months. Simple.

Not really. I think negotiations will become easier. Also, if their fight goes ahead, WIlder or Fury will have an L on their record too. Boxers lose all the time, you don't need to remain undefeated to get a big fight.
Reason why Joshua's name is used is simply because he's the cashcow.
You don't hear people saying, I hope Brook loses, or Bellew, As they kinda are the only other 2 PPV guys potentially.
Simply put, unfortunately, it's a Joshua loss that will likely knock Hearn back a peg.. Joshua's comeback fight SHOULD be on regular Sky. But even then, I doubt it.

AJ is a fake big plank as well. I enjoy his fights but I'd rather see him chinned than watch Eddie milk him and listen to his shite patter again and again. He should be fighting Wilder but now we're getting Sasha then probably Whyte? Not for me! I'd rather just see him get chinned for the shock value.

I voted Dominic Breazeale.
He's a big lump that will make Whyte look good IMO. Plus he actually wants the fight.. Perhaps too hard to sell on UK ppv but stick it on DAZN in US, call Wilder a pussy etc.... I can see Hearn going for that.
Whyte Vs Miller would come with a great buildup but i just dont see that fight happening any time soon. Miller wants the Joshua fight but wont take any risks to get it.
Chisora rematch? Whyte has been turning this down for almost 2 years now.
Dereck even jumps through all the hoops. Signed up to matchroom, fought Kabayel in monaco for euro title (oops), fights Takam on the undercard (Oh shit he's done it!)
My theory is Whyte doesnt want the Chisora rematch yet because its a great comeback fight if/when he takes another loss.
And ofc, Dillian is pencilled in for his rematch with Joshua @ Wembley next April.
He wanted the Wilder fight, that should have happened this year... Wilder & the WBC clearly have no interest!
