One of those under the radar fights that will allow the winner to move up the rankings. I like Kownacki here. He is one tough kid.

I favour Kownacki in this fight, he will bully Martin, a fighter that lacks heart to fight and he cant handle pressure. But i have seen an interview with a featherweight fighter Kamil Laszczyk and they asked him about Kownacki Martin fight, he replied that he has seen Kownacki sparrings with Wach and he had real troubles to catch him so maybe he doesnt like to fight taller fighters with longer reach. Wach isnt a master of footwork but Kownackis footwork is arguably even worse. He throws punches but his legs stay in place.

I expect Baby Face K to hit Mr Martin with rapid successions of punches from many and variegated angles until he either falls down or declines to emerge from his stool for the succeeding round.

I know. I cant get it to work. Maybe if you cut and paste it. It's just a short video from your Polish website showing a little of Kownacki and Martin training.

Kownacki holds the compubox record for most punches thrown by a heavyweight.

Kownacki threw 820 punches in 8 rounds against Danny Kelly (102,5 per round). Hovewer, Whyte threw average of 111 punches vs David Allen. Kownacki threw 141 punches vs Rodney Hernandez in round six, Whyte also threw 141 punches vs Allen in round 3.

I like the Kownacki Martin fight because Martin hates to fight volume punchers while Kownacki hates to fight taller fighters with longer reach that use jab.

I thought that was Ike Ibeabuchi for his performance against David Tua, and that together they held the compubox record for most punches thrown in a heavyweight fight. I'm not sure though.

I think most agree this should be a very intriguing, highly competitive fight, but is anyone actually picking Martin? Seems odd that we are all, or nearly all, picking Kownacki, yet expecting a decent test for him. Well I'm going to root for Martin since the majority of posters don't think much of him, besides we Brits should support the Royal family

Come on Charles. Show them you're not as shite as many say you are. :box:

It was the Szpilka fight when Kownacki set the rdcord for punches landed in a heavyweight round.

Kownacki threw 222 and landed 63. In round 3 he threw 70 and landed 22. I also heard that he set record in this fight but i dont know how and in which round, it seems dubious.

Btw it was in shape Kownacki, weighted below 110kg. Against Kiladze he weighted like 8kg more.

I agree. I just heard some random announcer say that. I don't see such a record listed in black and white anyplace. Was it punches thrown in a round or punches landed or what? You cant trust those compubox numbers anyway. Its just some crooked boxing mob monkey at ringside making pencil notes, along with the judgettes. They try to make it sound official and scientific. He did, however, impress the hell out of me with his nonstop punching from all angles... and there was silly Szpilka trying to goad him on by holding his hands low. Not a smart move. Vitali K was one of the few who could pull that off.

I'm not saying you're wrong but Martin has still lost only to Joshua. He made a lot of money, but I felt a bit sorry for him now 'walking this Earth like dog'. Everyone thinks he's crap, and he may well be, but I'd like to see him do something to get his pride back. Getting caught cold by Joshua is not per se, a cause for disgrace.

Yeah i dont trust compubox and their stats are irrevelant to me.

Szpilka does it in every fight, he does it when someone lands a clean shot on him, he did it vs Jennings, Wilder, Kownacki, against Adamek once too and even once recently vs Dominic Guinn.

I just googled it ...

Ibeabuchi threw 975 (322 landed) to Tua's 755 (282) but this was over 12 rounds so I guess Kownacki's record is the more impressive numerically.

Factor in the quality of the opposition and the number of punches coming back at him and I'd say Ike's is the greater achievement.

Bad habit. Very. Obviously he does it to show he's a tough guy: " Ha ha your pathetic punches didn't even hurt me. Look at me i don't even bother to hold my hands up to protect myself because you punch like a little girl!"

And then he gets knocked out.
