Anyone know who Kanat will fight next? Doesn't look like he has had a bout since stopping Brandon Cook last year.
Kanat is an exciting fighter. I'd like to see him get back into the ring!

Apparently had to cancel a bout due to injury earlier this year and is now unranked (

Wonder if he's quietly going to retire

What was Islam's claim to fame? I thought it was because he beat GGG or some high-caliber fighter in the amateurs. Only a few notable names on his amateur resume and a loss to Derevyanchenko.

well he was an olympic medalist and world championship medalist, which are pretty good accomplishments
he looked pretty solid when i saw him, gave a painful brutal beating to cook
but at his age, this type of inactivity, while still not being fully established at 154 , isnt good at all. wouldnt be surprised if he did retire

yeah ...looks like he might be retiring at this point.
He will likely going into training in Kazakhstan or China --maybe open his own gym.
It would have been nice to see more of him. Reminded me a lot of GGG
