canelo 115-113, ggg has some nasty fans

I had Golovkin by 1. It was a close fight.

I thought Canelo fought an excellent fight. The decision didn’t bother me at all.

Draw, but could fairly be scored for either. Thought GGG deserved it a little more but thatay be because he's my favourite fighter and got robbed in their first fight.

Voted for draw, cause it was tight close. First of all it was a great fight, other things matter less.

Both of them did enough to win. Canelo surprisingly took the center of the ring from the start, Golovkin surprisingly wasn't frustrated by the fact, that he was forced to box. GGG still seemed to be more active and outjabbed Alvarez. Canelo was still landing the most noticeable shots.

Canelo had a better start, GGG them adapted and equaled the fight. Canelo started taking over in the second half, seemed ready to end the fight on his terms, but GGG was able to hurt him in the 10th, so the fight was equaled again. The ending was close, nobody put an exclamation mark.

I'm not against the decision for Canelo at all, cause overall he seemed to damage Golovkin more, what eventually reflected with the bruises on GGG's face.

Joey Giardello always looked like he went through a meat grinder, yet it's clear he beat Rubin Carter. Appearances mean nothing.

Of course, it's about the work. Which in this case was in Canelo's favor in terms of power puinches.

No. Fights are NOT determined by power punches but by over all work-rate. Canelo was eating jabs like candy all night long. Are you really going to tell me that GGG landing 3-4 jabs is automatically nullified completely by 1 power punch by Canelo?

Are you really going to tell me that GGG's total punches (200+ more than Canelo) and total landed punches (30+ more than Canelo) is someway somehow better?

If the first fighter lands several jabs, that doesn't affect the second fighter, and then the first one eats a single power punch from the second one, a punch, that causes a visible damage, so why the fukk I should score the situation for the first one? Jabs make scores, when they frustrate boxers and break their games. Jabs should set up power punches.

GGG did land plenty of power shots. He rocked Canelo a few times. What fight were you watching? Or were you one of the judges?

Very very close fight. But i prefer Golovkin to win. Now, for me, the fundamental question is: Golovkin is not that good, or Alvarez is a true champ?

GGG’s jab could be considered a power punch itself. He snapped Canelo’s head back with it repeatedly.

Listening to people talk about this fight they had this one closer than the last.. But I didn't see it this way.

Actually I thought this fight was more of a decisive win for Golovkin than the last fight. Golovkin fought a different fight this time and the jab really worked in his favor. The jab bothered Canelo and had plenty of snap. It dictated a lot of Golovkins work.

For me, Golovkin had the more dominant rounds this time and the latter half Golovkin turned it on. It was Canelo who was struggling to cope with the pace after the 9th. Golovkin took complete control between 8-12 in a decisive manner. Yes Canelo won a lot of the early rounds, but they were never as clear as Golovkin rounds.

The first fight I was not surprised by the draw. This time when the final bell rang I felt Golovkin had the fight in the bag. I did not expect to see the result although I was always conscious Golden Boy would have a foot in the ground.

Golovkin for me won this fight. I am struggling to see how Canelo took the fight and I respect both fighters.

A trilogy maybe on the cards, however I cannot see how Golovkin can win against Canelo. He would need a KO and Canelo is one of the most saviest fighters of this era. Perhaps both fighters should move on. Golovkin still has a lot left in him and he is perhaps one of the best fighters of this era, and a real machine.

Great fight but maybe time to move on.

Closer than the first fight, it was obvious what was going to happen before the fight - the most common pick was GGG to win the fight, Alvarez to win on the cards.

I've never said, that Canelo wasn't hurt, I actually wrote the opposite, so what posts are you reading? GGG landed power shots, some were especially good, for example, a one in the 10th, but Canelo landed more of them.

It's not about power, especially when that power didn't really sway GGG's game plan of jabbing & uppercutting Canelo. The power had little to no effect on GGG's effectiveness.

Probably not but GGG was the busier man in there no matter how you want to slice it or dice it and once again merit means nothing in Las Vegas.

This is actually worse than the Holmes-Spinks fights and I never thought I'd see back to back screwjobs again.

- Brutal. A 10-8 round for whatever reason. Round can only be awarded to one fighter
- Dominant. I expect 90% of judges to pick my pick as winner of the round.
- Clear. I expect 75% of the judges to pick my pick as the winner of the round
- Close. I expect 60% of the judges to pick my fighter as winner
- Toss-Up. You could choose either fighter. 50/50

1. GGG Clear - GGG outjabbed Canelo clearly. One of the easier rounds to pick.
2. Canelo Close - Canelo with a slight edge on power punches
3. Canelo Toss-up
4. GGG Toss-up. GAve it to GGG because some good work early in the round
5. GGG Clear - I think GGG clearly outworked Canelo, but Canelo had some moments
6. GGG Toss-up. Very close. I think GGG slightly outworked Canelo
7. Canelo Toss-Up. Canelo slightly outworked GGG, in my opinion
8. Canelo Toss-Up. More right hands from Canelo, but plenty of jabs from GGG.
9. GGG Clear - I think GGG outworked him
10. GGG Clear - GGG definitely hurt Canelo more

Given the closeness of the rounds, I think you can give GGG four clear rounds, and put the rest (close and toss-ups) in the hat and draw names. That means for me, any result between (GGG 120-108 Canelo) and (GGG 112-116 Canelo) is possible. All three cards are definitely on the Canelo end of the spectrum, but not disgustingly off.

I imagine Canelo coming forward was a big factor in the judges scoring, even if GGG was significantly outjabbing him.

And fornicate, I lost money on the fight.

I only had Canelo winning between 2 and 4 rounds. I had no hate for either but Canelo picking up wins he didn't earn makes me hope he loses his next fight.
