Or will Canelo vacate that belt saying that nobody else decides for him what to do ?

Canelo will choose to take the bout that provides him with the biggest available payday and will only consider defending his titles if facing a mandatory challenger coincides with this objective.
For instance: Canelo would not bother to think twice about vacating all of his belts if he had to choose between a third GGG bout or perform a mandatory defence against someone like Jermall Charlo.
I feel that the belts don't mean much to the Mexican as he considers himself as being "bigger" than the sports governing bodies... and let's face it, he probably is.
That being said, I strongly suspect that GBP will probably want to protect Canelo and grant him an easy payday for his next outing , after two tough back-to-back bouts against GGG, so don't be surprised to see the Mexican facing off against a journeyman in the mould of a "Vanes Martirosyan" type opponent, such as David Lemieux, even if it means getting stripped of his titles.

Yup I agree.
Canelo vs Lemieux sounds possible and it would be an exciting fight.

Canelo vs Lemieux in December.
Munguia on the undercard.
Afterward Canelo may very well vacate the meaningless belts and dabble again in the junior middleweight division.
He's not a real middleweight. Just a tweener.
Canelo goes where he money leads. When you're the Face of Boxing you don't worry about mandatories or championships.
Canelo doesn't need any glittery belt to shine. No such props necessary.
He's PPV's #1 star. He can pick and choose who he fights and at what weight.
Boxing runs through Canelo now.

lol what does that even mean 'boxng runs through canelo'
for example...how do ajs fghts run through canelo
for example. can canelo veto an aj fght if canelo wants aj to fight someone else? is canelos approval needed?
and can canelo hand out suspensons etc on his own too?

Can't see Alvarez fighting Charlo next; not because he's scared, but because it's not lucrative and very risky & GB won't entertain it.
I reckon he'll either resurrect Miguel Cotto's WBS 155lb Championship to make some bread and butter defences before tackling Golovkin again.

lem seems probable....golden boy wins ether way ...lem can be hyped as a puncher and they can just bring out that highlight reel..and honestly not a dangerous fght to me. lem can seriously punch but too large a boxing ability gap
how lucratve would a 3rd ggg fght be next? enough for another go or are we done wth that now?

Jermall's resume at mw is very poor to generate some interest. He can have that strap.

Canelo has struggled massively to make the 154 limit since 2014. He's a full size middleweight, however long it took him to fight at the full 160. Apart from the huge middleweights like Jacobs, who should really be fighting at 168, he weighs about the same as most of them on fight night, possibly more in some cases. He has much better stamina at 160 too. That says it all. I hope he stays there.
With only 6 pounds between divisions, I don't think there's any such thing as a tweener - just a few fighters who insist on killing themselves to make a limit they really DON'T belong at (Brook at 147, Canelo at 154 etc), or those with poor discipline meaning they struggle to make the weight they DO belong at (Gervonta, Lemieux, Broner etc).
The rest of what you say, I agree with fully (even though I know we saw last night's fight differently). Canelo is much bigger than the belts.

I warn you, this dude is on the British scene arguing with me that JCC Jr was a genuine middleweight. Trying to explain d̶i̶u̶r̶e̶t̶i̶c̶s̶ ̶d̶r̶u̶g̶s̶ c̶h̶e̶a̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ uh
modern nutritional advances in weight cutting science to him are gonna go nowhere.
PS: Just to make it clear mate, I agree with every single syllable you wrote there.

Who the hell has Charlo beaten? At the very least, Saunders has an excellent resume and the winner of Jacobs/Derevyanchenko will be a bonafide monster. CHARLO HAS DONE NOTHING!
Canelo should rematch GGG in December.

GGG could run the table on the top 10 middleweights today. And no way in hell is Oscar going to allow Canelo to fight GGG for a 3rd time

I very much doubt Canelo getting back in before May, maybe a year from now.

My guess is Lemieux. Should be easy win for Canelo. Big enough name to sell some tickets.
Saunders is hard to look good against. Not big enough name to sell tickets either.
I don't think they wan't to fight Jacobs. Canelo could need the Vegas judges again in that fight.
Charlo is not good risk/reward ratio...
I don't think there is going to be third fight with GGG. I hope GGG gets to have fight against Saunders or rematch Jacobs if he can beat the Ukrainian dude. I fear that it might be hard for GGG to get fights without the belts

Jermall has a poor resume at mw. He should fight Jacobs/Derevyanchenko winner to prove himself at mw.
Canelo vs GGG III on Cinco de Mayo. Until then Canelo vs Lemieux and GGG vs Murata in December.

Who did GGG defeat to earn the right to engage in his very first world title bout at 160lbs?
Is it reasonable to assume that the Jermall Charlo is currently more qualified to challenge for a world title than the 2010 version of Gennady Golovkin (who had only competed in 18 pro bouts)?
Should Jermall Charlo be deemed as being a better qualified title challenger than the likes of Lajuan Simon, Kassim Ouma and Nobuhiro Ishida who all fought GGG for his WBA championship, despite possessing losing records?
If Canelo elects to face Lemieux or GGG during his next outing, he’ll probably get stripped of one or more of his world titles. And if Mauricio Sulaiman sticks by his word, Jermall Charlo will probably face Martin Murray or Willie Monroe Jr. for the vacant WBC crown.
I strongly suspect that the Brit will be paid to step aside in order to allow two PBC stablemates to challenge for the WBC’s 160lbs title, because it’s been rumoured that Charlo was already planning to face Monroe Jr. during his next outing anyway.

EO has a short memory. He's probably an old man. But let me remind this old man these:
Before Golovkin got the
World Boxing Association Super World Middleweight Title he fought at that time these top challengers like : Kassim Ouma, Grzegorz Proksa(no. 10 boxrec), Matthew Macklin(no. 6 boxrec), Curtis Stevens(no. 10 boxrec) and finally Daniel Geale(no. 4 boxrec).
It wasn't GGG's fault that champions of that time like Sturm, Martinez, Quillin and Cotto avoided him like plague and acted like GGG didn't exist at 160 lbs.

Not just that, his opponents actually showed up in the ring non-injured and ready to fight. Heiland was a freaking cripple.
