according to my aussie source, Paul Upham and Stuart Duncan, Jason Delisle takes on Clinton Woods in England later this month in an official Eliminator for the Number2 IBF Light heavy spot.

yet another easy crack at a future title fight for woods. how many is he gonna get?

Woods would'nt have a bar of Paul Briggs, so they bring over delisle , just another aussie journeyman who can't even lay claim to being the best in his own country,

What the fack is the matter with the british fight game in recent years , No one wants to fight anyone capable of hitting back

I cannot understand how and why Woods keeps getting constant opportunities at titles? He must have a good management and promotional team...i agree with coneye, Woods would'nt last the distance with Briggs i doubt, Briggs is now scheduled to fight Tarver anyway next.

DeLisle is a tough fighter, he was standing toe to toe with Green for the first 4 rounds and recieved a lot of devastating punches before he was KOd in the 5th or 6th, He went down 3 times but got up every time and the referee had to stop the fight. He is probabley the 3rd or 4th best around this weight in our country and Mundine wants no part of him.

Recently i heard that DeLisle has been training at the Tszyu Boxing Academy and it will be good to see if Johnny Lewis has taught him anything useful in the last few months. DeLisle was also a good amature fighter and had 2 wins over Green. He missed out on the Sydney Olympics as Australia never put in a LightHeavy and thats when he turned pro.

Interesting stuff, i had never realised Delisle had such a pedigree...if the shell of Clinton Woods that turned out twice against Glen Johnson appears then i can see a tough guy like Delisle upsetting things here and then we will really have to see if Woods can recover for his next title shot :TU:

Thanks for the info, Ben. Why has DeLisle never fought Briggs? It would seem a natural over there.

That's true enough, i like that about the Australian scene they mostly seem willing to fight each other, there is not much ducking going on at the main weights. Briggs went through almost every meaningful fellow contender before his ascent on the world scene.

I'm not sure about that one it would be a good fight though. I think that Briggs would beat DeLisle just like Green did. If Woods isn't fighting well it could be a hard day at the office but if he brings his A game he should win.

Clinton is a fading force, unfortunately. I know little about this guy but Woods is becoming a bit pedestrian. He has an awesome chin though.

Delisle whilst a tough young journeyman is not now and never was in the same class has Briggs,

Delisle by the way never went to the Sydney olympics because Danny Green beat him for the spot at the oceana games .

Tough young Aussie journeman who's taking the fight for a holiday abroad , a bigger than normal payday , and a chance to mix with the big boys.

Fackin disgrace though for Woodfs to be looking for these fights.

Did he miss out on the Atlanta Olympics then Coneye as i am sure in one of his early fights that it was mentioned that he missed out because we never sent a representitive.
