Anthony Crolla vs. Daud Yordan - 10 November 2018

by Ruthless-RKO
Anthony Crolla is expected to return to the ring in a couple of months' time.
The former WBA lightweight world champion has been out of action since his victory on the last Anthony Joshua card in March. Crolla scored a unanimous decision victory over Edson Ramirez at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff and was afterwards considered a realistic future opponent for the current WBA lightweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko.
Boxing Scene understands that, while Lomachenko is set to face Jose Pedraza in December, Crolla is set to be placed in a final eliminator to face the Ukrainian on the undercard of Tony Bellew's undisputed cruiserweight championship challenge against Oleksandr Usyk.
Bomber' will take on Lomachenko's pal Usyk at Manchester Arena on November 10, exclusively live on Sky Sports Box Office and DAZN in the United States.
And it is believed that the 31-year-old will be pitted against Daud Yordan on the card, with the winner getting a money-spinning showdown against the winner of Lomachenko versus Pedraza, who is the current WBO champion at the weight.
The Indonesian, who is the same age as Crolla, is the current WBO Inter-Continental lightweight champion and has a record of 38-3 with 26 early.

Ex-lightweight ruler Crolla has been handed a final WBA eliminator against Daud Yordan.
31 year-old Yordan has three losses in 41 and is a former IBO title holder.
WBA President Gilberto Mendoza was present to ratify the situation, which could eventually see the winner facing Vasyl Lomachenko next year.

Burns vs Cardle on undercard.
Surely burns still has enough left to beat Cardle (perhaps stop him)???

Really hope Yordan wins.
I like Anthony but seeing him face Lomachenko would be horrific to watch.

loma-crolla would just be a totally nothing fight for me. likely very one-sided and crolla really brings no particular significance as a challenger for that level of fighter

Hard not to like Crolla - I hope he gets the shot at Loma he craves.
Quite WHY he craves it is hard to fathom

but good luck to him..

I think this might be a tough 12 round battle.
Yordan looked good at the media workout.

If you've not seen Yordan recently watch his war with Malikov, what a great fight!

Judging by Lomachenko's recent interview with Steve Lillis he has zero interest in fighting Crolla

I'd imagine the only time we see Lomachenko in with an slight underwhelming opponent will be in unifications ah la Pedraza

i agree, at least pedrazas being a champ adds some sort of significance to it. (plus will be lomas first time fighting to unify)
crolla though, as much as he seems a good guy, would just be very underwhelming and really not bring much at all to a fighter of lomas level. it would kinda be like loma vs jason sosa again

Crolla doesn't present nearly enough of a challenge for Loma

None of youse boys know your boxing. Joe Gallaghers tactics of hands high and go to work second half of the fight are the exact tactics that should be used to be beat Loma
