i was thinking of ajs card, looking at things i favour okolie, camp, and kuzmin, but wouldnt surprise me at all to see an upset in any one of those in particular

made me think, can anyone remember past cards, domestic or abroad, with lots of upsets? recently there was a small hall type show that egg salad fought on that had 3 a sides losing to 'opponents' http://boxrec.com/en/event/769104

interested in seeing the most 'upsetting' cards thereve been !

One that springs to my mind is a Wembley show in 1984 when a previously unbeaten Frank Bruno was stopped in the 10th and last round by American James "Bonecrusher" Smith, after building up a big points lead. Also on the bill, Mark Kaylor was destroyed by a wild-swinging, blown-up light-middleweight from Philadelphia by the name of Buster Drayton, while Liverpool's Noel Quarless, who had looked sensational in destroying Anders Eklund and John L. Gardner a year earlier, slumped to a dreary points defeat at the hands of blubbery American Mark Lee.
(Of course both Smith and Drayton went on to win world titles but at the time they were purely in the category of 'good opponent'.)

These days with the Eastern European imports you won't find many upsets

Off the top of my head:

Carl Thompson/Eubank II, a lot of people felt Eubank deserved to win their first fight after dropping and outboxing the larger/heavy hitting Thompson, the rematch was a bit of a hasty one, only 3 months later and Eubank's eye quickly re-injured and that was that.

28-44-7 Journeyman Tony Booth beat rising and unbeaten star/prospect Omar Sheika.

Warley's Howard Clarke bizarrely booked himself a world title shot off the back of a win over world-ranked Jason Papillion. Clarke was 26-10-2 after the fight and would win only once more in his career, lodging another 69 losses.

John "Buster" Keeton scored a surprising stoppage win over former AMA star and unbeaten prospect Kelly Oliver.

Foreman v Moorer was the biggest upset, no other upsets on the card though.

Celebrated boxing trainer Andy Smith took his son Robert and Joey Joynson to the States in 1984 for some experience. Both Smith, a light-middleweight puncher, and super-featherweight Joynson were unbeaten and had blitzed most of their opposition here. They faced a couple of real corpses in Atlantic City but failed to budge them in the early rounds, ran out of gas and were stopped.

Robert Smith.....mmmm...... That name rings a bell! Is he still involved in boxing today!!

Yeah, the same guy. Good puncher: he once rocked Lloyd Honeyghan to his boots but a recurring shoulder injury cost him his career.
