Season I star Mairis Briedis vs. Noel Mikaelian and Krzysztof Glowacki vs. Maksim Vlasov are the two Quarter-Finals on an incredible doubleheader when the World Boxing Super Series comes to the UIC Pavilion in Chicago, USA.



The second main event in Chicago on November 10 is a potent match-up between Poland’s former world champion Krzysztof Glowacki and Russia’s Maksim Vlasov.

“The plan is simple: take it all, give nothing back,” said Glowacki (30-1, 19 KOs)

The exciting southpaw fought Season I winner Aleksandr Usyk in 2016 – relinquishing the WBO belt over 12 rounds, he won the belt in 2015 via knockout against Marco Huck.

“I have been waiting for a long time for my chance, and I am full of power and great energy. I am going to win this tournament and become world champion again!”

Vlasov (42-2, 25 KOs), a fighter with success at multiple weights, likewise enters the quarter-final with great confidence after winning 12 straight fights since moving up in weight in 2015.

Hardest fight to predict. Glowacki showed in past that he can defeat almost everyone but then he recently fought unknown Radchenko and it was a terrible performance. Glowacki though, seems to be the fighter that fights better against good opponents but unimpressive vs weaker fighters. Vlasov is taller, but his chin is suspect i think, he was down multiple times in his career, he is taller though so he can outpoint Glowacki. He was never in the ring with someone like Glowacki.

Vlasov a slight favourite but i bet on Glowacki

I pick Glowacki to win by decision with a one important "if". He must be fit. As it has already been mentioned, Glowacki emerged to the top of the scene in an impressive fashion, but after he suffered a defeat to Usyk, his perfprmances weren't as convincing.

The problem is in his head. He divorced with his wife, left the kids and found a new bird and he went too crazy for her. I hope he will concentrate on boxing now. I really like him but he is not the smartest guy. He even made a tattoo on his arm for her so it shows us where his thouhgts were in his recent fights. Btw, it is a terrible tattoo and i think that in future he will need to edit it to some old Indian chief or something like that (if you know what i mean).



Also, he had a lot injuries recently, especially the left hand injury.

In Glowacki's last fight, Silgado unfortunately took a dive, it was a cringe. As it came out it was not his first nor his last time he did so



After he lost the title, he blasted out Altunkaya, won easily vs Bruzesse despite the injury and beaten Silgado but also scored his by far career worst performance vs Radchenko (6-0 at the time, sparring partner of Wlad Klitschko for years.) he was in real troubles in round 5.



It was no robbery, despite the knockdowns it was clearly won by Glowacki.



To be honest, i have some doubts about his training methods. But after all it is a gym where 2 CW champions trained in.

Now for the WBO Interim belt

It works sometimes - like for Ross Purrity against Wlad or McBride against Tyson
Though I am positive Glowacki meant something else...

Glowacki said ''take it all'' and he just meant that he truly aims to win this tournament - it was not about Vlasov fight

It’s not like Usyk was due his WBO mandatory.

If and when Usyk vacates, Glowacki or Vlasov of the winner of the tournament will become full WBO champion. To be fair, we all know Usyk will be vacating soon. WBO are just making sure they’re getting their sanc fees in early.

Glowacki has a decent puncher's chance. Otherwise, Vlasov by decision.

it is a war from the first round Glowacki is always entertaining

Vlasov hurt in the first round, 1-0 for The Head

round 2 was close, Glowacki lands some left hand power punches, Vlasov threw some straight punches, 2-0 on my card

2-0 glow although that shot that hurt vlasov in round 1 was a bit drty
