If you use past numbers; Wilder struggling to get more than 15,000 bums on seats in Alabama, and the Klitchco Fury fight not even selling out, then the answer would be very few PPV's.
Of course the occasion changes that. And given casual fans lapping up the hype and Twitter nonsense, probably 1/2 a million.
Given these greedy bastards will suck up any money in the pot, the undercard will be absolute rubbish. So relying on casual fans still can pay off.

Very few tickets remain. On the 5th they sold $1 million dollars in 25 minutes.

Same thread, different week.

Should have found the old thread.

I think it does around 300k, which is a good number for them. Maybe even 250k..

How come so many people were convinced that Wilder-Joshua would do such massive PPV numbers, considering the estimates for Wilder-Fury? Is AJ seriously that much more of a draw in the US?

no hes not at all, his usa numbers havent been good at all aside from vs klit, and its klit who is the us name there (22 hbo appearances), not like aj has far more big us exposure then fury either, fury was on big networks for the klit, cunningham, and pianetta fights at least

the stuff about aj vs wilder doing 1m this year in the usa was laughable, mainly used by ppl trying to suggest that the 50m offer would be made back on the fight no problem

My guess and I’m completely serious is ZERO. The reason for zero buys is because this fight is never happening. Definitely not happening this year. Fury will postpone somehow or not submit to random drug testing which is already a factor since he’s the only one not to agree to it. Strange when u consider that his buddy just got popped with speed and had to cough up his belt.

This fight does not happen. No way

100-190, there are two UFC ppvs in December. Much bigger sport here.

None of the 3 are draws here, but the combined 72-0 record with 70 kos is pretty promotable. I don't think it would have done a million, that might be the championship games in college football too.

66-0 (58) vs 62-0 (60) much of a dfference to ppl not too familiar with the fighters?

and tiny what do you believe? you posted before fury-wllder was made that aj-wlder would do 1m on usa ppv at that time and that you were beng conservative with that amount

so what here?

Strongly depends on a price. 200K would be a huge success if the price is $59 or higher.

Joshua has the Hearn publicity machine behind them.

This place can get pretty ridiculous at times. :TU:

"how many SHOWTIME PPVs will FURY vs WILDER do"

Sadly the promoters absolutely have blown the potential of this event. It should have been a mega event. . . .A Fury vs Joshua fight should have preceded a Wilder fight versus the winner. while Deontay rolled up the wins toward Rocky Marciano's heavyweight record.. . . .In his 50th attempt a fight versus Joshua/Fury it could have made massive numbers... . . .Wilder could have been on an international "Bum of the Month" tour and receiving unending publicity fighting undefeated contenders like Wallin, Schwartz, Kabayel, Kownacki and even throw in a unique fight versus Glory Kickboxing champion Rico Verhoeven for the novelty while building up a fervor for a historic match against the Joshua-Fury winner for the 50-0 mark.

As it stands now I predict a PPV audience for Wilder vs Fury of about 350,00 instead of what could have been one of 3.5 million.

Boxing needs a real promoter. . . .one with an imagination and creativity. . . .Boxing loses with this one.

Americans love HW's. And HW's haven't been around in the US at the PPV level in forevaaaaaaa.

The last HW fight on PPV that I'm aware of is Holyfield vs Sherman WIlliams in 2011. And it musta did such bad numbers they never released what it did cuz I've never seen buy numbers for that fight.

But if you push HW's right they will come & that lil press tour they did had potential Fury on JRE yesterday will end up being heard by 20M people or more probably. If Wilder gets on JRE in the next couple weeks that could help grow the fight more. And this isn't even getting us to fight week where they will for sure be pushing sales hard.

So because of how its been pushed & how I think it can still be pushed I think this fight has the ability to get into the 400k-600k buy range.

And I will say that may be altered when I know the PPV price, cuz I think if they go higher ($70-$80) it might change my take as to me this seems like a $50-$60 PPV so a higher price could reflect negatively on buys.

Shame to know that more people will illegally stream from from both sides of the pond. If the fight took place in the UK, the buys would have been higher, but instead, it’s on at 4am.. that will hurt the buys IMO. Showtime i’m still saying around the 300-400k mark. Which I would still see as a success. It’s both of their PPV debuts.

300k is what canelo did against paul smith. Canelo is the biggest star and can only pull 300k without a dancing partner

Nobody in the us knows wilder or fury. This is a hardcore boxing fan fight which is generally 100k ish. But throw in they are heavyweights and the promotion has been decent id say 200k is where is lands

Tyson Fury has done an excellent job of selling himself to the US market and I am becoming increasingly convinced that his bout against Deontay Wilder will achieve in the region of 350K to 400K PPV buys in the US.

The Brit might have even more fans in attendance at the Staples Centre than ‘The Bronze Bomber’.

This event will likely achieve far in excess of one million buys if we combined the total units of PPV buys sold in both the UK and the US, which means it’ll be considered a huge commercial success.

I haven't seen a single ad for the fight, but they might be doing it on ESPN plus. If they're smart they'll start running them during NFL games.
