you mean overall how good the resume is, or who has the best single win or two

because crawford has good depth and clearly a p4p record overall, but imo no real standout win

to me , guys like canelo, sor rungvisi, frampton, nery, loma, fury, hurd, maybe thurman and spence, and some others like possibly jhonny gonzalez (mares destruction) have better 'best' wins. and of course pac obviously is head and shoulders above pretty much everyone else on both overall resume and top best wins

i think also, usyk schooling gassiev is right up there with anything crawfords done.

so not ranking fighters, but specific wins.

eg

1. canelo over ggg
2. sor over roman
3. khan over lo greco

Obviously PAC. Mares, Santa Cruz, Roman, etc.. behind him. Wang and Santa Cruz probably for still prime guys.

Usyk's route to clearing out 200 is much better than Crawford's route to clearing out 140, imo. The best wins on Crawford's record were a bit lower down, where he enjoyed a nice size advantage.

That's not to take anything away from Crawford. He's clearly near the top of the p4p list. I just think his best performances are still to come.

Joshua clearing out the deadwood of the division a bit like Tyson did in the 80s

Fury fought Wlad first, and went to Germany. Now he's fighting Wilder in America.

Granted, he 'retired' and went on a coke binge for 3 years in between, but you can't honestly claim Joshua did what Fury never dared to.

Joshua has the better record overall, obviously, but he never fought the dominant reigning champ version of Wlad, and the rest of his wins are just not much more than taking out the trash. Povetkin was a decent scalp, but he's really an old man who should have had a L to a cruiserweight years ago, and lost far more one-sided to Wlad while fresher himself. The fact Pov is probably 3rd in the division just highlights how weak heavyweight really is.

If you go to www.premierboxingorganisation.com and go through the rankings...the low numbers in the last 20 fights column denote the opposition quality. Lomachenko has three number 1s on his resume. Not many fighters ever beat TEN top 10 fighters. Floyd Mayweather had the best ever.

Currently it's Manny Pacqaio is #1 by a country mile.

You need to be toward the end of your career of course.

Roman Gonzalez. Just look at his resume. Just about everyone that he's beaten has aged well.

Only one above him is Pacquiao unless I'm forgetting someone else.

Not at all sure about that since he struggled with a cripple who clearly lost to Mauricio Herrera prior.

Not sure I'd say he struggled just because it went to the 12th... I saw him win about every round (dominating most), before finishing the job properly.

Also, putting the Herrera fight in context, that was the same year Herrera gave Danny Garcia a lesson, only to get robbed. That Benavidez performance was no worse than Danny's, against the same opponent.

Garcia fights pretty much on even terms with most of the top welters. Even in losing, he makes it competitive right to the end. Watching those fights, you'd easily assume Crawford would dominate Danny, if they ever fight. How many welterweights would you have as an overwhelming favourite against DSG? Maybe Spence, that's it.

No, I had Porter a big favorite over Garcia and it was justified as Garcia lost clearly. I also had Thurman an overwhelming favorite. Garcia is a mid-elite guy. He's more in the mold of Sullivan Barrera than anything.

By the way, the version Herrera beat was a better version of Benavidez since he wasn't a cripple.

Miguel. 60 & 2. Some good wins, a lot of meh ones, but overall a lot of wins. I kind of put Pac in the retirement basket. He may box again, but I wish he wouldn't.

Great points amigo. To put AJ atop the list when he has yet to face Fury or Wilder is obviously the thinking of an Anthony Joshua homer.
