Dave Allen - fulltime?

Watching Dave Allen fight on the weekend, I was wondering - since he puts a lot of bums on seats and has a good online following, is he a fulltime boxer or does he have work on the side? How much money would he have earned this year fighting Nebo, Webb, Yoka, Thomson and Howe?

Allen wouldn't be a millionaire as of yet, but he's certainly on the way to becoming one, particularly if he keeps winning, staying popular and getting the nice purses in.
I'd say that he's on around 80-150k per fight... Isn't that the norm for the British level?
I remember Deeck Chisora was offered 250 grand to fight AJ when he was British Heavyweight Champion, but they always seem to pay over-the-odds for AJ's opponents.
I remember reading something that Matt Legg said (an early AJ opponent on the Froch/Groves II undercard... He said that he was able to "pay out" the rest of his mortgage with the money he was offered for the AJ bout.

Just to clarify on this, Del Boy said this on the "Gloves are off" program at the table across for Dilian Whyte when he said that he was offered more money than Whyte to fight AJ... As I understand it, Whyte took the fight for 175 grand.
Del Boy boasted that he was offered 250 but it wasn't enough and Whyte said to him "you fool, you fool".

I very much doubt Dave Allen is on anywhere near 80k-150k, I’d say he would have got a half decent payday from Yoka,

I thought I read somewhere that those fights paid his mortgage off?
He blew a lot of his earnings with a publised gambling addiction.

yes he's full time and has the prospect to earn well in the near future from media as well as boxing-don't think he's on really big purses yet though.

If you think Allen isn't making dozens of grand... Then think that if you so wish. Dave has been in Commonwealth title fights.
And I've heard that Paul Appleby got a 6-figure sum for defending his Commonwealth title against Martin Lindsay in Belfast a load of years ago.

6 figures for a Featherweight Commonwealth title in 2009? Only if you include the decimal place.
He will be on decent lumps of money but nowhere near £150k and nowhere near being a millionaire.
He is a likeable guy but I don't believe he is actually much of a ticket seller in his own right as of yet, he has had a couple of away man paydays and has generally been undercard filler on big selling main eventer shows.

How much say for something like the Webb fight, a decent domestic bout on the undercard of a big fight, would you say? Northwards of £15k?

Well that is total assets, not one purse. Not that good is it? Deposit could be anything at all, up there with cheaper property prices, its probably about £10k tops. So total assets are £26k from the Webb and previous fights.
The 150k thrown around is lunacy. Dave used to do a podcast and he said himself on it, that he got about £20k or may have been £30k for Ortiz. Take off managers and trainers cut, tax and stuff and then being injured and other stuff to be out of the ring, its hardly any more than working as a line manager at Tesco. BUT I think he will earn well if he wins a few more and picks up a bauble

Yeah might be on his way to earning the 150s but I don't think he's been making that just yet

Yeah, in my post, if it is me you refer to, I suggested the deposit part of his tweet may be about £10k
To quote myself

£80k - £150k per fight? Are you mad mate?
For the recognisable names possibly £8k - £15k for Yoka, for the others a couple of grand tops.
There is no way his total purses for 20 fights get to £150 grand

I don't believe he has a manager:
Prior to the Webb fight when he was thinking about retirement he was looking at going fulltime at entry level jobs so i can't imagine he was making anywhere near some of the figures being spoken about here (not including the Webb fight).

If he’s not got an official manager, Mick Marsden will certainly guide him, for a fee.

Pretty sure Allen said himself on IFL that he got 10-20k for likes of Whyte and Ortiz but now gets offered 6 figures for the likes of Kuzmin but wants to make a go of it. So he’s back taking smaller purses for beatable opponents. He also said on there he put down like 10% deposit on a house in Doncaster which is nothing according to him.

Dave will definitely do well out of boxing - he said that the Webb fight paid of his mortgage, as I understand he doesn't gamble any longer and his sister is in control and helps him.
When he retires, I'm sure he will be a regular on Sky shows.
