Tyson Fury is a shot fighter

Just got round to watching his last fight.
Slow. Fat. Plodding. Inflated sense of his skillset. He looked like a comic doing impressions of different boxing styles.
3 years out an balllooning up in weight, clearly aged with drugs and lost all his hair. This guy is a shadow of the boxer we seen weave around Klitchko in Hamburg.
I think Fury is going to get flattened by Wilder, but at least he'll make enough money to go back into retirement, probably best he makes it permanent. Or maybe his rivalry with Price will be relevant again.

Let's see, it's the million dollar question, to say he is shot is too strong,, being capable of beating the best out there is another thing.

It's almost as if Wilder picked him for a reason.

He may well be, but I don’t think we’ve seen enough of him since coming back to properly make that judgment.

He may not be in his peak condition even though he said he’s already at his fighting weight (255lbs), he definitely isn’t shot.

Shot must have a whole new definition.

I certainly have, there is no way a man that size, who has aged very quickly, has a drug habit and let himself get so badly out of shape can possibly get his reflexes and reaction time back. His attempted body shots looked like an old grandad tickling his grankids. I'm amazed anyone cpuld think this guy could regain anything close to the athletic performance he had 3 or 4 years ago. Stick a fork in him, he's shot to bits.

I want to be wrong but I think RKY will turn out to be correct in this instance.
I have moments of optimism mainly because I’m willing him to be the same or an improved version of the fighter he was on that night in Germany. However when you assess the situation logically then i think it will be a minor miracle if he pulls this off.

I wouldn't say he is shot but I do think Wilder beats him. Tyson still has enough skill and tactical nous to box and fiddle his way to victory over the majority of the current crop.
Sadly his best years have more than likely passed him by. I hope I'm wrong though.

Yeah, he’s not what he was, but I don’t think it changes the dynamic of the fight that much.
He’s definitely got enough left to outbox Wilder, but he’s still in danger of getting starched at some point.

He beat Klitchko in Dusseldorf

Gerald Washington outboxed Wilder for 4 rounds.
Can a semi match fit Tyson Fury outbox him for 12?

He didn't look good vs Seferi, but vs Pianeta he appeared improved for sure. He has everything to prepare well for Wilder.

I am afraid that you might be right.
Wilder is happening too soon for him. He wold need to be 100% to replicate that night with Wlad against Wilder.
Is he even 80% of what he once was?

Looking forward to finding this out when he fights wilder. He'll do well to avoid that right for 12 rounds

Fury might not be the fighter he was but He will have to much savvy for Wilder

You could argue that Fury hasnt been up for his last few fights cause he wasnt really challenged. I didnt fancy his chances against Klitschko but he proved me wrong. I think you would be silly to write him off.
Personally I think over 12 rounds Wilder will eventually catch him, can Tyson really be on the run for 12 rounds and pick him off on a points win. Ones thing for sure is that Wilder wont do a Klit and not throw punches

Fury obviously wasn't trying very hard versus Pianeta. If you watch that fight and think that that performance is the absolute limit of his ability then you must be brand new to boxing.

Fury's a bit of an enigma, I do think this fight has come too early and neither Seferi or Pianeta provide anything like preparation for an athletic sharp puncher like Wilder but even pre Klitschko he's had sub par perfomances where he's looked bored and went through the motions,, I mentioned in a post a few months ago that the Fury that toyed with Pianeta for 10 rounds probably wasn't much worse than the one that made Hammer and Chisora quit
I wouldn't be surprised if Fury raised his game form the occasion but I do wonder how long how he was on the wild boar for, technically Fury is a lot more fundamentally sound than Wilder but it doesn't necessary mean he's a better boxer, Wilder is a lot better than people give him credit for, he does seem to get wild when he thinks he has someone hurt or trapped on the ropes and is a bit unorthodox in his approach but he can box and he can fight, if it gets into a firefight then you'd have to pick Wilder
I tipped Fury to outbox Wlad and it was a great performance even it was boring but even without the lay off Fury outboxing Wlad means nothing regarding him beating Wilder, styles make fights and make no mistake Klitschko was diabolical that night, Fury just made the most of that and kudos for doing so

I do think Fury put in a bum fight against his last foe. His win over wlad for me was more about what wlad didn’t do then what fury did. Obviously this was fury’s twitching style that caught wlad and most of us probably unaware. I think he’s good for five rounds or until wilder suddenly pounces like he does then it’s game over. I might be wrong I hope I am but wilders team aren’t stupid and fury is making millions no matter what

I used to like Fury, but since he’s now a confirmed PED cheat I hope he gets ktfo. I wish the same for all confirmed PED users.

"Twitching" is a good description of Fury that night vs Wlad. He did it for 12 rounds too. He's too out of shape to pull that off now, he won't be anywhere near as elusive vs a faster & bigger hitter.

I've always been a fan of Fury's.
But I'm amazed at people. When Fury was scheduled against Chisora the first time members of this forum picked Chisora.
When He fought Hammer they picked Hammer. When he rematched Chisora people picked Chisora.
Most picked Wlad to stop him.
They called him slow and plodding. They said he had no chin they said he had no skill.
Then he beats Wlad and thakes a couple of years off and his myth grew to astronomical proportions.
Now the people who said he no talent are saying he's shot.
Fuggin make up your minds
![[icon_witsend.gif] :witzend:](./images/smilies/icon_witsend.gif)
… If Fury wins people will say he just exposed the bum Wilder
If Wilder takes out Fury he beat a shell of the former great.
It is a no win situation for either guy
