Yes he is, a little too good. Not saying Witter would lose but I think it is a lose-lose situation. Witter is too higly ranked to be facing an awkard fighter like Mutley for little reward.

How about Alan Bosworth.

Would have had him down for Hatton's next opponent personally....

Always been wandering how long it was before a reference to Wacky Races would be made.

I think its a bit rich taking the Michael out of Hatton's opponents, at least they are world ranked. Who has Witter BEATEN of the level of Magee, Tackie, Phillips and Stewart.

Cotto camp turned down Witter team. they wanted a easier test (corley) he just needs to win and he will get the big test.

Not sure I believe that Chris, Witter is no longer the WBO mandatory why should Cotto wish to fight someone who is still rediculed stateside.

I wouldn't necessarily call Corely easier, he did a better job vs Judah (although had better preperation) and has better wins than Witter.

Witter may have offered himself to Cotto, but I don't think Cotto refused because he is scared of him.

i never said Cotto was scared of witter. Hatton people obviously wont take the cotto fight so witter is next in line. Witter least went into the ring against Judah. Witter just needs his chance (like eastman) but getting it is another matter.

Problem is that there are alot of title fights happening at this weight soon, what will happen to the loser of these fights - they might oust Witter.

Also, as Pinto was the number 1 ranked fighter and Cotto ranked 2 I wouldn't have thought he needed to worry about mandatories for a good while yet. Witter will probably have to fight another eliminator bout before getting his shot.

Like Eastman, Witter hasn't shown he can win in world class and his best victory has happend donkeys years ago (Jan Bergman). Don't get me wrong, I rate Witter and I think he can be a handful for ANYBODY in the devision - however, I don't necessarily agree that he deserves his chance.

If it is this guy then that is not too bad, he holds a win over Yuri Romanov and went 12 with Oktay Urkal...i would say this could be a good fight.

Fair enough Stu, I agree, I've long shot down Witter apologists who attack Hatton's opposition, to me it isn't comparable.

I'm just so fed up with the teeth-grindingly slow progress being made by Team Hatton that my criticism often oversteps what is realistic.

Aplogies for the oh so predictable Wacky Races reference, but you have to admit it is funny to visualise Muttley standing over a horizontal Witter doing that laugh.... With Darstadly in the corner.....

How about Ivan Kirpa or Victoriano Sosa, both beatable with decent records. Or an outsider could be Bobby Vancie, he's supposed to be looking for one more fight, may as well go out with a decent payday

At least Witter isn't afraid to fight the top guys unlike Richard.

I don't think Ricky is afraid to fight the top guys, neither do i think that Witter is. I think there promoters are, how hard are they pressing for there fighters to compete against the elite?.

Hatton has been running scared of Witter for years. The fight was there, Hatton could have forced it, but he didn't. He'd rather fight Pederson, Vilches, Rios and co. Judah called Hatton out. Said he would come to the MEN. What did Hatton do? Harris fight was going to purse bids where Hatton would have definately got a shot. He makes history by removing himself from a mandatory position. Mitchell called him out live on Sky. Hatton wanted no part of it. Blame Warren, but also Hatton takes even more blame. Need I go on?

I think its frustration on both our parts that these fights arn't made. Witter pulled out against Pinto, hasn't defended his Euro title for a while.

If you want to force a fight, you should be fighting on the undercards of the man your chasing, forcing the issue, i'm not saying Hatton is the better fighter of the two. In fact i see it as a genuine 50/50 fight, a good case can be put foward for both boxers coming out on top.

Since april/ May of last year Hatton has faced, Stewart, Vilches, Pedersen, Tackie, Rios and Phillips.

Witter has faced Battaglia, Hall , Kinuthia and Haeck.

Although Hatton hasn't faced any top elite fighters in that time period, the names he has faced are superior to any that Witter has. Witter needs to get a better class of opponent, put on a good display then do all he can to get Hatton to face him.

I can see the problems trying to get attractive matchups for Witter. He's not a draw, even at home, has no real TV following, and is awkward as hell to look good against. Even if you are confident of beating him, there is little financial incentive to face him. Hence the only guys he's able to get fights with are European level fighters who are low earners, which don't advance his status.

If you were world ranked, would you want to face Witter, when you can get in the ring with either easier jobs, or bigger names who are going to do far more for your status?

Whats the solution? Be like Herol Graham and get your chances after the prime of your career.
Witter needs to get on TV, make a following , thats down to his handlers, manager and promoter, i have a bad feeling that Witter is going to be a waste of talent, spending his time on Euro level fighters, until one bursts his bubble. Maybe he needs to do a Danny Williams and take a low payday but get to face a big name, if he wins then he's quids in on his next bout.

Witter has a problem with his style and the fact that he is disliked abroad after his showing against Judah...missing fighting guys like Pinto hurt his progress IMO If he had faced and beaten Pinto he could have made a statement of sorts. I think it will be luck if he lands a big fight, he just needs to keep busy and fighting the top European guys and maybe go for a low rent "world" title and perhaps build a platform from there.

Witter needs to be fighting recognised boxers from the light-welter division and he needs to look extremely good in beating them to attract some interest around him -Ben Tackie, Lovemore N'Dou, Jesse James Leija, Oktay Urkal, Artur Grigorian all fit the bill.

Witter can give anyone in that division fits, if he is given the chance.

What Junior really needs is for Ricky Hatton and /or allegedly to grow some knackers and fight him (Coyote and Roadrunner situation again)

Danny only got that shot because he got rolled by Samil Sam, if it weren't for that, he'd never have gotten a look in. Witter looks like a hard night's work for anyone, and unless there is someone after his ranking, they aren't going to take him on even for a small fee, why bother, easier to avoid him. Witter needs to get lucky, and find someone who is prepared to face him.

I don't know one way or the other whether Witter really was injured against pinto, but that could have turned out to be a very very bad career move if he wasn't.

Im a mate of Lee's (mutley) i have trained with him for the last three years...we knew he would come good in the end,i personally dont think he is ready for Witter, what i do know is he hits harder than any middle weight out there..Gav down was beating him but cooley Lee just waited and eventually got him!
I would thin Lee would go for british if witter lets it go :TU:

witter's camp should offer a fight to lovemore n'dou  n'dou doesn't care who he fights and will snap there hands off for it.

n'dou is a walk forward fighter just the type that suits witter as opposed to a jab and move merchant.

give lovemore n'dou a call :TU:
