I am passing through Brisbane the day before and was going to stay an extra few nights to catch this fight. Now that I have seen the early undercard I think I will make other plans. I notice Mundine is co promoting the event and that probably means a pretty ordinary undercard so I think I will pass.
I can't see Mundine making a contest of this as it is his last fight and just a payday. I think after a couple of flurries he will spend the fight running and covering which on its own is not much of a spectacle. If there where a couple of good quality preliminary fights I would have made the effort. Oh well I can make my decision up to a few weeks before the event so we will see what they come up with.

Was interesting to see how much of a chance the guys on Fight Call Out were giving Choc.
Styles make fights. So we shall see.
Havent looked at the undercard yet, but i thought the only chance this had of selling big was to put a mammoth undercard on. I hope they do.

So far the undercard is looking pretty pissweak, with 3 bouts pencilled in, with that old regular "TBA" filling in twice!

OK I'm going to get this fight on Foxtel for $59 for a few reasons.
Anthony's last fight, regardless of the missed opportunities to become 'The Man' i.e avoiding Kessler at SM by dropping to an insane weight at SW. He has amassed a respectable record and has put bums on seats like no other in this country. With the exception of perhaps Jeff Fenech. A worthy career.
Jeff Horn stepping up in weight, I thought he beat Manny regardless of the hyperbole from American commentators.
Having a few mates around on a Friday night
And in spite of it going to be a typical CRAP Mundine undercard where the fighters are going to have to sell their own tickets to make money.
And also I normally spend about that much going to the pub to watch the fights,
I am picking Horn by late stoppage
Enjoy your retirement Anthony. you earned it.

It will be interesting to see what Mundine hits the scales at. Rushton is concerned Mundine will resort to diuretics to cheat.
There is an agreement for random drug tests so hopefully if anyone tries to cheat it will be detected.

IMO, Main Event's $59.95 is touch steep. I would consider subscribing at 39.95

So assuming Horn does what he is supposed to do......................bludgeon a long past his best, big name opponent into retirement.........................where does he go from there?
On the international scene a win over Mundine doesn't mean anything.
The rematch with Pac has sailed.
Will he chase belts at 154 or try to squeeze back to welter?

Perhaps Horn will just ride off into the sunset, wealthy, young and intact? Good luck to him if he does.

I think he has been clever to take this fight and make some cash without having to waste. Rare opportunity for him. I reckon he and Amir Khan would put some bums on seats in the UK. After that he will probably think about a good life after boxing. After all he has certainly made a quid and he will always be the man that beat Pac Man at Suncorp Stadium.
Big weekend for me as I have bought the Horn and Fury fights. Horn undercard looks better than I thought it would.

Anthony Mundine looked pretty drained. Virtually no stomach. But he still managed to carry on like an idiot, pushing Horn and then throwing a succession of jabs at him

Both fighters are scheduled to jump back on the scales two hours before the fight. Neither is to weigh more than 75 kg.
I doubt Horn could get to 75kg if he tried. But it will be interesting to see how much Mundine re-hydrates in the 24 hours since making 71 kg.

Not long to go for Mundine to be consigned to the "Oz Boxers Of The Past..." thread!

Just have this weird sense that Mundine will do well. Maybe not win but do well. Thereβs also some rehydration clause, this and the serious age gap will Fk the man up. Mundine though far more skilled than horn back in the day.
