Probs an odd question but weve had most wins and most losses

Anyone know who the britsih boxer with tge most draws is ?

First name that popped in to my head was Len Wickwar. An old timer who had 42 draws from 470 fights.

id be curious in this especially for modern era non-journeyman fighters who didnt simply attrtition there way into it through total number of fights

so guys who just seemed to have a thing for being in these close fights

like, badou jack in 25 or 26 fights had 4 of which were draws, 2 split decisions, and 1 majority decision

I cant for the life of me think who but i saw his record on here in the 90s he had sumit like 6 draws in first 9 fights

Whilst searching records recently I came across 2 fighters that boxed each other to 3 consecutive draws but cant for the life of me remember who it was, Thomas Stalker had 3 consecutive draws with 2 coming against the same guy.

Modern-ish era, for a guy that most rate was one of the best at the weight and a bit of a beast, Monzon has 9 draws.

Thanks for the complement about my website. Always happy to help if you have any queries about the old timers. I do post some stuff on boxrec and make quite a lot of my records available. I have been researching this stuff for 45 years and I have not made all of my results available to boxrec. One day I will, but in the meantime it forms the backbone of my business. That's why you won't find a match between my stuff and the boxrec database. There are some good lads improving the boxrec British prewar stuff. Fair play to them. It's a long haul though. Between 120 and 150 professional shows a week in the UK back in the 1930s!

On about pre war boxig someone should do a story on micky maguire i think his is a good story

There's a load from that era with a ton of fights, probably one of them, I'll see what I can find.

Some really early ones have tons of draws too

Over 50% of your total bouts being draws. That's crazy.

There may be someone out there who fought 1 draw, and just quit Boxing therefore having an 0-0-1 record with 100% draws, but I doubt anybody ever got more draws in less bouts than that.

No sport has the kinda oddball statistical anominalies that Boxing does.

Shouldn’t be draws. Fight an odd number of rounds when it’s ref judging: 5 x 3s whatever. 4 rounds is ridiculous anyway: professional athletes fighting 4 rounds because they’ve just turned pro -! Most have been training since kids

As a side there shouldn’t be journeymen either. 5 fights without a win one year ban

95% Boxing is fixed . One guy literally turns up to lose without getting KOd . Doesn’t even try to win..

There’s no other competitive sports where one team literally turns up to lose on purpose.

Being a journeyman is just a job for a lot of them. More fights more money. It’s a business, unless you are a big ticket seller you need to fight regular. Upsetting the apple cart by beating the A side may backfire on them so they are happy to get paid, take the loss and not get stopped so they don’t get suspended as they want to be back in the ring quickly.
