Joe Hanks vs Joe Joyce on December 1 rather than Gerald Washington

Wow. What a letdown.
I had been looking forward to seeing Joyce in with another heavyweight capable of extending him into the fifth or sixth round again. But, instead, we're getting an utter mismatch that will likely be over inside of a round or two. Sure, Hanks has an impressive looking record of 23-2 but he was KO'd in just four rounds by the light-hitting Andy Ruiz. Joyce will deal with him in half that time.
I'm not blaming Joyce or his people for this matchup though because it was Washington that refused to sign the contract at the last minute leaving the promoter in a quandary looking for a live body to fill in for the reluctant Washington. That's how Hanks got the job.
