Erislandy Lara has withdrawn from the WBC drug testing programme.
Why?
Why?
I imagine that there is an explanation, it just seems odd not to tell people what it isBoxing Prospect wrote: ↑08 Nov 2018, 02:28 Or he has issues with the inconsistent program that has allowed fighters away with violations, and has decided to take a stand against the hypocrisy... You never know, he may actually have a legitimate reason...
Something like that was in my mind. Maybe behind the scenes it is complete bollox and he is making a stand.Boxing Prospect wrote: ↑08 Nov 2018, 02:28 Or he has issues with the inconsistent program that has allowed fighters away with violations, and has decided to take a stand against the hypocrisy... It’s not a failure to sign up that’s made the news, it is a boxer who was enrolled leaving the programme.JimStone wrote: ↑08 Nov 2018, 05:52 “The WBC has an agreement with VADA, which is the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association in charge of administering the Clean Boxing Program. Would you not be reluctant to sign up to something where the WBC is in charge of the results?
I know but the whys and wherefores of his departure have not been expanded on. You've posed a question as to why he may have left. I'm asking if this fighter has requested the WBC to disclose some results and they have refused?leejonesjnr wrote: ↑08 Nov 2018, 06:31It’s not a failure to sign up that’s made the news, it is a boxer who was enrolled leaving the programme.JimStone wrote: ↑08 Nov 2018, 05:52 “The WBC has an agreement with VADA, which is the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association in charge of administering the Clean Boxing Program. Using examples of guys who have probably used assistance as suggested is hardly going to strengthen any argument fella.JamieM wrote: ↑08 Nov 2018, 09:38 With all the nonsense with Tyson and hughie fury, canelo and billy Joe Saunders how can anyone have any faith in the drug resting programs? It's all dictated to by money clearly. I have always said money talks and bull walks. I believe at the elite levels in all sports there on it
Oh I see. I misunderstood on account of you saying something completely different!JimStone wrote: ↑08 Nov 2018, 07:57I know but the whys and wherefores of his departure have not been expanded on. Sorry, I am using translator. As I understand it, with the WBC programme, the results are only given to the WBC and it is up to them what they do with them. I'd be happy if somebody could confirm that for sure. Maybe if guys feel like they are keeping back some positives because of who the fighter is they will not be keen to sign or stay signed.leejonesjnr wrote: ↑08 Nov 2018, 09:44Oh I see. Dunno, I have never been VADA tested so I have no idea if they work differently to other organisations but I believe that it’s standard for other organisations to issue a copy of results to the athlete.
