Several stick in my mind as being memerable nights, whether they be live on tele or at the event. Here's a few:

30/9/95 Naz KO's Robo in the 8th - only seen Naz a few times previous and was totally shell shocked with the way he disposed of the well liked Welsh champ. Was a wee bit pissed at the time though..

2/9/95 Bruno wins his first world title against Oli McCall after several attempts with Tyson, LL & Witherspoon. All my mates went on the rampage after this one shouting "BRUNO"..."BRUNO" all over town. Sad really but I was only 19 at the time...

16/1/1999 Tyson lands a cuscussive right upercut to lay out Botha after a lackluster performance up to that point. Remember swearing at the tele in frustration and then screaming when the punch landed.

13/3/1999 Lennox gets robbed against Holyfield in the first fight. One of the biggest travesties in boxing. pivotal moment which uncovered dirty corruption with organising bodies and promotors.

8/6/2002 LewisTyson IS ON was suppossed to be one of the biggest fights in history. Had loads of mates round. I was the only f*cker cheering for Mike and found myself cringing with dis beleive in how one sided it was.

15/12/2001 My first experience of Hatton live against Justin Rowsell. Atmosphere was electric with the roar from loads of fans inside Wembley conference centre. Remember being frustrated When Ricky pounced on him in the second and I had a superb view of the ringpost infront of them. Superb night nevertheless.

and last and definetly least....

30/7/2004 Tyson gets knocked out by Danny Williams....Danny Williams man...
Could not beleive my eyes, especially after Danny going so close to getting KTFO in the first and second. Have to say felt a bit sick after the fight simply because it was the end of a boxing era. Was still happy for Danny but the little Tyson fan in me wanted one last come back before retirement...oh well...

All the big Lewis fights were great, used to tailor a whole Saturday night round them. I miss them :(

The Hamed fights too, he headed up some excellent cards in the UK and of course his big fights in the US were good events too.

I knew at the time we were spoiled with Hamed and Lewis, our best out in the US in the mix, I really worried about what would happen when they were gone....

big two that spring to mind are Naz-Barrera and Lewis-Rahman 2.

I was insanely nervous for both. The way Naz got battered from pillar to post at times...sticks in the mind. The perfect example of 'being taught a lesson'.

Lewis-Rahman was great. A lot of people saw a repeat outcome of the fight that took place that April, Lewis boxed superbly...and then that KO, OMG! I woke the family up, was quality though.

Williams-Klitschko has real potential to be a night to remember. I thought it would be an age before we had another british world heavyweight champ once Lenny retired...but it could happen sooner than i first thought!

Holyfield v Tyson for me, I have never ever got so excited watching a fight, i was literally jumping up and down on my mate's sofa screaming as Holyfield unloaded that final salvo of punches, sheer unadultarated amazement. What a fornicating night of boxing that was.

Benn v Watson, i was in a pub full of people, all cheering for Benn , i bet one 30 quid that Watson would win, even told him the sixth or seveneth round, laughed all the way to the bar.

Douglas v Tyson, sat there in complete amazment as Douglas pulled off the biggest shock ever.



Biggest letdown was Honeyghan v Breland, I'm a big fan of Honeyghans but didn't realise how far gone he was till that night. Felt bad for him leaving the ring to boo's.

Any lennox fight really, Holyfiled one was pretty mad, had a houseful of mates and went ape whenit was a draw, Lennox Holyfeild two, ran round the road swinging my shoirt above my head, shouting "WORLD CHAMP WORLD CHAMP THE UNIFIED WORLD CHAMP". God knows what the neightbours thought.

Benn Mclellan, just an amazing fight. Nuff said.

Williams Potter, started my following of Danny really closest thing Ive ever seen to a Roicky film in the ring, just staggeirng heart form williams, I was nearly in tears by the end of the fight I just couldnt believe he had pulled it off.

Hatton Pederson cos I was there with my bro for a weekend sesh, awesome atmosphere for a one off.

Benn V's Eubank 2 - i was at a family party on that night in 1993 at just 11 years of age, can just remember the blokes going crazy saying Benn had been robbed, but the atmosphere that was in that function room when everyone was watching the fight was brilliant, them where the days !!!

Brian Nielsen vs Mike Tyson.
There was nothing else in the media the last 2-3 weeks before the fight. Several reporters said that if tyson will ever fight in Denmark again they will quit their job because they had to be on standby 24/7 to cover all of Tysons moves. 17000 spectators in Parken (cheapest tickets was £100) Pretty good undercard. The fight was PPV (£50) but we got all fights from the card + the showed all Tysons fights and most of Nielsens in the last two days before the event. I was so pimped for that event that I doubt I will ever be it again (and Im not a big Nielsen fan)

Tyson vs Holyfield II, I loved the hype - When Sky play the music of Speed in their introduction its means something.

Naz vs Robinson - mainly because I was there and my old man made a capacity crowd laugh out loud prior to the fight.

Hamed vs Barrera - As a person who despised Hamed, what a night.

Tyson vs Williams - ££££££

Lewis vs Rahman 1 - What a sensation, it surved the fat bugger right.

Leonard vs Hagler - What hype, What a fight.

Hearns vs Leonard II - Same reason.

Barrera vs Morales II - Fight dissapointed, but it was the hope that the two could rekindle their first bout brought that great butterfly feeling in the gut.

Tyson vs Spinks / Holmes - For me, probably Tyson most significant wins.

Tyson vs Bonecrusher Smith - It was dubbed in the news (Boxing in the news, now there is a thing we don't here about now) as "Who ever lands first wins" - A first round KO was expected, the fireworks never delievered but I was thinking about the fight the whole week before.

McGuigen v Pedroza at Loftus road. 25,000 singing fans and the whole country knew about it - a much bigger fight than Bruno/McCall.

On the train journey there, everyone was talking about it: mums, kids, dads, you name it.
Everyone had seen Barry's march through the featherweight division on the BBC ( "thank you Mr Eastwood!" ) and he was beating real contenders too.
No WBU bollocks at the time, so he chances his arm against a real champion: WBA champ Pedroza was making something like his 18th defence.
Nelson was still pretty much an unknown dangerman at the time, having just beaten Gomez for the rival WBC title.

It was just an unforgetable night.

Yep, everyone knew who Barry McGuigan was, it was like another era really, big name fighters were household names, and boxing used to actually make it into the newspapers. How times change.
