I write this load of illiterate waffle assuming you’re still lurking, which knowing how big of a boxing fan you a actually are, you probably still do lurk around Boxrec now and again, so I’d just like to congratulate you on a very successful career...

...And you’ve achieved more than 99.9% of your fellow professional fighters could only EVER dream of, not only in becoming a World Champion, but also success in the ‘modern’ measure of boxing success , which is waking away from this brutal, unforgiving, and lonely sport, with a big bag of money, faculties, and dignity, fully intact !!!


You’ve always believed in yourself, even when others gave you no chance! You’ve been a total emotional wreck at times, and you’ve split opinion, but that’s boxing!! And ultimatey, all that us fans actually want is action, and you’ve given us action consistently, be it winning or losing. You’ve always wanted to fight the best available.

We’ve all been on this emotional rollercoaster with you, if only anonymously looking in as just mere boxing fans. All through those dark days, & hard camps, you’ve rarely been off the British forum front page here, even if it’s just people giving you a sly dig, it’s only because they care enough to bother. Your even a regular on the Current Scene these days, you’ve made it!!

We’re a few months apart in age, and we come from a similar background. Me & mine have a good life, but it takes me 2 jobs of graft and whatever else it takes to give my family that life. Your 35!! And you’ve already “clocked” this game of life financially!!

Tony, hats off you. Don’t ever look back with regrets, you’ve given it your all, you’ve always been true to yourself. Usyk will go on to greatness I feel, and you gave him his hardest night to date, outboxing him for a large portion of the fight. Your a realist, you know the score, you gained Usyk’s respect tonight.

Anyway, enough of my pointless waffling. Huge respect from me, and hopefully many others on here. Enjoy ‘retirement’., and stay busy on Sky, where it seems you’ve found a home post retirement.

And just to end......,. Just think back to being down in the 4th against Ajisafe, and look at your life now......!

Tony was a fringe level world cruiserweight, with an elite character that made him a lot of money, and a lot of money more than other much more talented British peers than him.

I’m glad Tony is off the scene now, Hope he is ok though, his post fight repetition of sentences was tough to watch.

To be fair you only hear of the ones it goes wrong for, normally the young or reckless, stupid ones. Anyone sensible who invests in property and trust funds will be set up for life and so will their family. Ha yeah, fair play to him though, he talked himself into the big bucks, plenty of far better fighters haven't earn't anywhere near what Bellew made.

Bellew exposed? He was ahead in points against the greatest cruiserweight of the century?

I think Bellew had an awesome and amazing carreer and I'm happy he finished it like this. Beïng very very competative against an absolute pound for pound legend in his own weightclass.

It was a 12 round fight and Usyk is known for starting slow,being ahead by the mid way point meant nothing last night.

Stepped up to fight Nathan Cleverly and got beat in his home town. Stepped up again to fight someone he called a dwarf and turned his back before being stopped in 6. Stepped up again and got KTFO.

it's almost as though Bellew tolerates Hearn because he makes him money, but actually loathes him and despises his tendency to include himself in the narrative.

Yep. Was saying this to my brother last night. Every champion he has fought, he lost too. 2 by KO.

He won a vacant world title. I don’t even think he would have beaten Drozd tbh. But he still won the world title, can’t take that away from him. Even after a shït start where he was dropped.

Bellew IMHO is not world level. He’s fringe world level at best. Just there for the best to beat. He has powwahh and we all know that.

Last night, there was a difference. Usyk is Elite. He cut the ring off really well most times, that to against a good counter puncher.

I thought Usyk could get the stoppage but similar to the Huck stoppage where Bellew would at least be standing. But Usyk KTFO Bellew last night.
