Am I right in saying he’s gone bust a couple of times already?

I would have thought the British Boxing Board Of Control would have had some rules about being licenced as a promoter when someone has been declared bankrupt before.

I believe I am right to say he has had companies go insolvent and into liquidation, and he has been faced with personal bankruptcy (IE in situations where it seemed a strong possibility), but he has never (personally) been made bankrupt.

Not enough big business in this country for more than 1 promoter. Warren will have made millions over the course, back in the 90's when he was the only big fish around here. Hearn has taken over as all the top boxers are going to him.

Just like most businesses really, bigger fish come and eat the spratts.

Not sure if Fwank's misunderstanding with the tax authorities would make Tyson Fury accept a fight with Wilder.

Fwank is naturally cautious in match making and there's an upside to that as well as a downside. If we all had to make a living from boxing promotion we might be equally cautious.

It wasn't that long back that he signed what was touted as a £100m deal with BT sport, it's not been the greatest of starts but BT either stick with Fwank or bail out of the sport and I think so far ratings have, on the whole, been good, even if Fwank's stable isn't as shiny as Eddie's. Presumably Fwank cutting ties with BN removed an anchor that was weighing him down, what with all the debt and the limited platform it provided for his boxers.

I wouldn't rule Fwank out just yet, pretty sure HMRC's gambit of going public will result in a cheque being written and then it will be business as usual. Who's to say a month from now he hasn't paid off the tax bill and controls the new WBC heavyweight champion ?

He probably bankrupted himself by paying Fury 5 mill for the Pianeta fight.........Allegedly

Finally - please sprinkle the word "allegedly" around liberally - especially where it's not allegedly really necessary.

Agreed, I had a look at that and figured he may have strong motives for putting that stuff out there but I wouldn't want to be in his shoes. Life is too short as it is, no need to be worrying about who's knocking on your door.

He started his Twitter after the shooting at Katie Taylor’s fathers gym. He’s posted some interesting stuff on there. The Jamie Moore info was eye opening.

I don’t think the Frampton card will go ahead. Two PPV’s on the same night - I can’t see it working. Frampton is a fight for the boxing fans whilst Whyte is for the casuals. Which group is bigger and actually buys PPv’s??

I presume, and may be wrong on this, that with this sort of thing, purses are based on projected income from PPV sales, eg say £2m each if it is a beano, or £1.50 each if they sell a single PPV. Therefore, the promoter's risk is somewhat limited, although obviously there are overheads which are fixed costs and just have to be paid. Biggest overheads will be the two main event boxer's purses and I figure the purses are linked to PPV sales. Might be wrong. So anyway for this reason I imagine Fwank would not pull the plug - to do so risks it happening again. Lets be honest if Eddie can stop a rival PPV show by counter-programming with his own, he'll do it again. As would Fwank for that matter.

Is this personal bankruptcy? Hope it doesn't happen and he gets it all squared away. Frank has given me a lot more joy in my life than HMRC ever have so I know whose side I'm on.

I’d imagine every main event boxer will have a guaranteed purse of x and then x% if the show generates more than a certain number of PPV fights.

We know Hearn let’s his biggest stars ‘own the show’ and he takes 20% so there’s full transparency. I don’t think Queensbury do the same but there will surely be guaranteed figures for both frampton and Warrington beneath what is hoped to be generated. Hence why I say both will be very unhappy with a rival Ppv.
