Finally Errol Spence and Terence Crawford face to face

If this fight is gonna happen in 2019 it would be a magical fight for boxing fans.
I'm not sure yet. Spence was being outboxed by Brook for 7-8 rounds, until Brook's tank emptied. I know Spence's body attack was part of it, but I'm not convinced Brook killing himself to make weight wasn't an issue too.
I heard that a few times, that 7-8 rounds talk, and it is as insane as the first time I heard it. I still can't believe that's a serious opinion it's blindly wrong. Unless everyone went to the Carl Froch School of shit scoring, which seems more and more possible as time passes. Brook did have the benefit of 27,000 people screaming for every missed shot I imagine that had more to do with it than any assumed weight issue. Weight drained Brook doesn't "win" 7-8 rounds or he's not really affected like some believe. I don't know how he would deserve more than 4 much less 8, he must have got mad credit for just attempting shots. Meanwhile he got nailed round after round, got dominated inside practically every round, and was clearly laboring by the mid point of the fight. I don't get that scoring at all, not reflective of what happened. But, hometown guy popular guy he was gonna get the edge in any toss up round anyway. Some rounds were close. Nothing after Spence broke his face was close, at worst Spence could have been down 4-2 by the eye break it took time to adjust to another good fighter. Spence's first big fight atmosphere too figured it would take awhile to get going and it did. Still, it's worth watching again and seeing how brutally Spence raked that body the whole fight.. Crawford will be asleep if he takes anywhere near the punishment Brook eventually succumbed to. But Crawford is a harder target, that's where the mystery lies. Can Spence do the necessary damage he'll need to to beat the prime elusive and dangerous Crawford. I think he will, if they meet. Spence's power is something else, and his chin is top notch, he has leeway that I think Crawford doesn't.Deleted_Scenes wrote: ↑17 Nov 2018, 14:26I'm not sure yet. Crawford is a better technician than Brook, and Spence's opponents since that fight haven't exactly prepared him for this kind of test (you could say the same for Crawford). If it's 2020, Spence may have improved enough for it not to matter, but next year may still show a Special who's too green tactically to catch up to Crawford.
I thought Spence would have looked bigger, with the two side by side. I'm very narrowly favouring Crawford for now.
I wasn't trying to say he won 7 or 8 rounds, I just had him ahead at that point. Brook won 4 or 5 of the first 8. Spence may well have been good enough to close out and win over the championship rounds, but I do believe cutting the weight was an issue for Kell, and played a part in him losing that fight.SFW wrote: ↑17 Nov 2018, 15:02I heard that a few times, that 7-8 rounds talk, and it is as insane as the first time I heard it. 97-92 Spence at the time of stoppage.Deleted_Scenes wrote: ↑17 Nov 2018, 18:27I wasn't trying to say he won 7 or 8 rounds, I just had him ahead at that point. Brook won 4 or 5 of the first 8. Over the first 7 or 8 rounds, Brook was sticking and moving well, an Spence seemed a bit confused in there, tending to lunge in and get caught, instead of having a think and working Brook out.
I think I had Brook 77-75 up, at that point. After that, Spence took over.
Just from looking back over my scores, and not re-watching anything, I gave Brook 2, 4, 5 and 6, with round 1 even.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑17 Nov 2018, 18:3297-92 Spence at the time of stoppage.Deleted_Scenes wrote: ↑17 Nov 2018, 18:27I wasn't trying to say he won 7 or 8 rounds, I just had him ahead at that point. I gave Brook rounds 1. 2 and 5.. that’s it..
Crawford can bloody scrap as well man! That often gets overlooked! He can box with the best of them and he can fight with the best of them! Love watching him box, I love watching him scrap it out and I love watching him mix it up!! I must admit that I'm a bit of a fan boy but I just love watching this guy fight and make things happen! Phenomenal talent! He won't be beaten on skill! He'll only be bettered on size, strength or mistakes and he doesn't make a lot of them!apollo creed wrote: ↑18 Nov 2018, 05:15 Bottom line is TC has a good resume @ 140 with good wins over solid guys like Postol, Diaz and Dulorme. At 147 TC beat two undefeated fighters in their prime in Horn and Benavidez. On the other hand Spence has one solid win against Brook. The problem with Brook is he was brutalized by GGG at 160 and then he had to came down at 147 for Spence.
Although I think Spence is a very strong fighter , he won't be able to bulldoze TC because TC is a great matador with great angles, footwork and reflexes. Also TC has the ability to read his opponent and then adjust like FMJ.![]()
Which two are your favourite current fighters? Spence and Peterson? Exciting guysOnetimeonly wrote: ↑24 Nov 2018, 02:27 Lol at horn & benavidez being big wins. Apollo rates resumes strictly on personal preference. Peterson is as good, if not better, than either. Pretty much my two favorite current fighters.

I have Crawford and then Loma as my 1 & 2... Spence is good but he uses his size well. I think the two before him are a lot more technical...Onetimeonly wrote: ↑24 Nov 2018, 02:30 Totally agree, he's been my p4p1 for several years. I have Spence #2.
