Just had cause to look at Ray Patterson's record, and it's fascinating in that it doesn't follow the usual pattern.
Retired on a winning run, fought away from home except on a few occasions, usually only beaten when considerably outweighed, and seems to have kept Scandinavian professional boxing alive after the retirement of Johansson.
According to his record he's still with us and living apparently in Sweden.
Would love to discuss his career and the views he has on his brother (Floyd) . Anyone on here have his contact details.

Absolutely brilliant !! Where on earth do you get these ?
I've never seen this before and I thought Patterson hadn't came to the Uk prior to his fight with Cooper in 1966.
I notice in the front row Henry and my old friend Dave Charnley ( I wrote Dave's biography ' The Dartford Destroyer' in 2011).
Floyd was a great hero of mine. An absolute genuine nice guy.

Floyd's ability shines through in his sparring with Ray, particularly his work to the body. Henry Cooper should have taken more notice.

Has there ever been a more classy and likable champion than Floyd Patterson?

I'm guessing that particular film footage is from the vaults of ITC
and not from the vaults of the BBC as they should have wiped it from the face of the earth in the early 1970's
along with their historic all day coverage of the July 1969 Moon landing.
