AJ vs Wilder...what tactics would AJ use

I was just thinking what would be AJs tactics vs Wilder would he box Wilder as he definitely the better schooled boxer but the trouble with that is Wilder carries his power into the late RDS as he showed vs Fury and he could take AJ out at any point. A fast start from AJ could be risky but getting Wilder out of there before he lands his bombs could be the answer.what do you think.

Wilder was eating basic shots from Fury, one, two.

I reckon Joshua would destroy him the first time he lands big. I think Wilder was fortunate that Fury doesn't carry the same sort of power that Joshua does.

Yeah I reckon AJ would do a Lennox Lewis and come out blasting

Obviously carries a risk but that’s be the way to go. If Fury had power he’d have taken Wilder out last night I think.

Joshua does him like Lewis did Grant/Golota

Joshua's best bet would be too come in light and fast and go straight for the kill.

Wilder can't counter punch so its not really risky being aggressive with him......far more dangerous if Joshua tried to box cagily which would give Wilder the time and space to measure and line up his right hand. Joshua hasn't got the slickness or defensive abilities of Fury so a back foot plan would be far more risky than just being direct.

Jump on him and just wreck him with short compact punches, but work on head movement and fast feet on the way in to close the gap as rapidly as possible. The fight should not go past 3-4 rounds at most.

Wilder of course is always live given his power, but that'll always be the case. But I would expect Joshua to prevail and in devastating fashion.

Agree with the above - it’s a dangerous fight for anyone because of Wilder’s power, but really Joshua is miles ahead of him in every other department. If AJ jumped on him early like Lewis did against Ruddock/Golota/Grant, he’d probably smash him.

He'd say he'd fight him in the States for $50m.
Then he would duck him.

Can't see it happening because the whole world knows Fury won last night and it'd make Joshua look like he's taking the easier road.

Wilder tends to swing wild, and leave himself open so if I were AJ I'd keep my defense tight, and let Wilder swing one of them wild swings, and be prepared to take his head off with a counter when he does it, and from there finish it.

I think AJ can counter Wilder easily.

Agreed.

AJ has enough power on his jab to stun Wilder enough to come in with the right hand and finish him.
Wilder can't defend against the jab and get his own shots off. He needs to set up first.
Last night showed Wilder is not going to beat Fury or AJ

do some people maybe now reconsider that the supposed 'unorthdox' and 'akward' and 'unpredictable' effectiveness of wilder maybe are actually not so effective, and perhaps is just actually flawed crudeness? and that its pretty much his power and speed at high level that does it and bails him out?

why, if wilder has his great raw talents, would he have so many rounds lost and look so amateurish at times vs several opponents if in reality he also had these style advantages to go with his power, speed, etc? it wasnt just fury, but also ortiz, washington, szpilka, and molina, etc

the unpredictable stuff in particular is just some of the sloppiest, off the mark analysis ive seen, he has a very predictable style and his money shot is the same thing over and over

aj has more layers to his boxing game to land first, and he has big power himself. wilder is very dangerous for anyone because he can seriously blast with fast hands and has heart, but please just stop with the whole idea of wilder having this special skilled akwardness
