Maybe good news for BJS.

According to the Providence Journal, WBO middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade was arrested Thursday after Providence police said they caught him driving with a handgun.

Andrade told officers that he carried the gun because of his fame and wealth. But after officers ran a check, it was discovered that the unbeaten boxer did not have a permit to carry the confiscated Glock 19 pistol that an officer found in a Louis Vuitton bag inside Andrade’s Mercedes.

“There’s no excuse for carrying a gun without a permit,” said Providence Police detective Maj. David Lapatin. “Whether you claim you’re transporting large amounts of money, or your life is in danger, you can make your case to get a permit [to carry a concealed weapon]. But you cannot obtain a gun and carry it in the city of Providence without one.”

This guy can't get out of his own way.

I keep mine in a head bag with my favourite band names tippex'd on it.

I was half paying attention and I read that as 'fireman'.

Why is this a good thing for BJS? Not like WBO are gonna strip him over it. It’s nothing to really do with boxing.
