The fight of the year 2018 ?

Which ? Why ?
I'd have to concur. Can't think of any fight this year that was more satisfying in all areas.KiwiRider wrote: ↑11 Dec 2018, 13:55 As a fan, the fight I most enjoyed watching was Linares Vs Loma. High skill level, both well proven champions- no question. Fight swung both ways, plenty of action. Beautiful footwork, defence and offence. Variety of punches and combinations. Basically all I could ask for on the sport of boxing- and it finished outside the judges hands![]()
Hurd/Lara?DrDuke wrote: ↑11 Dec 2018, 14:02 Theoretically there still can be something else interesting, but I guess, I can make a top 10.
1. Fury-Wilder
2. Canelo-GGG 2
3. Loma-Linares
4. Gassiev-Dorticos
5. Usyk-Briedis
6. Povetkin-Price
7. Wilder-Ortiz
8. Joshua-Povetkin
9. Helenius-Teper
10. Kownacki-Martin
Fury-Wilder is inarguably best for me because of its intensity and clash of styles nature.
Around the top too.
I don't think so.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑11 Dec 2018, 14:58Way better than fury/wilder. That wasn't even good.
Maybe.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑11 Dec 2018, 15:00That's your fandom talking.
I don't know, how that's possible, I was watching it almost every day at previous week.
Could be because I watched it a week after it happened and after reading all the posts, so I never had any emotion in watching it the first and last time.DrDuke wrote: ↑11 Dec 2018, 15:03Maybe.

Had it all, it's my fav of the year, unless something incredible happens from now until Dec 31.jamamb wrote: ↑11 Dec 2018, 16:02 loma vs linares was really nice, high level, competitive , some drama, an ending with bang

I didn't see the first several rounds really compelling me that Pov could actually win. Maybe I should watch it again. It was certainly more entertaining than Wilder/Fury. Still no comparison to loma vs linares.dagilechia wrote: ↑11 Dec 2018, 16:11 my vote goes to Joshua vs Povetkin because it was an exciting HW world titles fight, Champion vs a top 3 (and surely at least top 5) fighter, Povetkin was a huge underdog in the eyes of most of people but after the first 3-4 rounds i really started to believe that he can win this fight...and them boom, Joshua eventually knocks him out. both fighters showed skills in this fight, it was a intriguing fight.
everyone's opinion is subjective of course, when watching AJ vs Pov i had a strong feeling that a surprise is a distinct possibility, i had no such a strong feeling during Loma vs Linares (though it was quite a close fight of course), someone could feel otherwise.oogiebe wrote: ↑11 Dec 2018, 16:15I didn't see the first several rounds really compelling me that Pov could actually win. I can see that. Somewhat close fight ending in stoppage. I'll have to watch that one again!dagilechia wrote: ↑11 Dec 2018, 16:31 Gassiev vs Dorticos was a great fight too, 2nd place for me, Loma vs Linares at #3
The end of Hurd/Lara was at least equally dramatic.gilgamesh wrote: ↑11 Dec 2018, 15:51 Lara vs Hurd or Gassiev vs Dorticos were my favorites of the year.
Wilder vs Fury wasn't even the best fight Wilder was in this year. Wilder vs Luis Ortiz was better than that.
One dramatic moment doesn't make a fight of the year. If you want to call it "Boxing Moment of the Year" yeah maybe you got a case there, but it certainly wasn't the greatest all around fight. Not even close. I watched it twice, and wouldn't watch it a 3rd time. Fight of the Year type fights are usually worth multiple views, and are always fun to revisit.
