Tyson vs Douglas Scorecards

How much money do you think that scumbag Don King paid those 2 judges in Tokyo to have Tyson LEADING on one card, and even on another heading into the 10th round? Douglas CLEARLY won 8 of the first 9 rounds. As easy a fight to score as there is. Tyson won the 8th only because of the KD. He was losing that round too. All Tyson had to do was get out of Tokyo on his 2 feet and he gets outta there with no worse than a draw. Just absurd. If it wasnt the "biggest upset in history" it wouldve instead been remembered as "the biggest robbery in history". Douglas was able to get Mike outta there and parlay that into a 24M payday against Holyfield before exiting the sport. Good for him.

Had Mike survived the 10th round he would have been 98-90 ; 96-94 and 96-95 DOWN to Buster.

Not sure if I’m alone but I can’t stand this fight. Brought up more than Hagler Hearns which is nothing compared to Leonard Hearns or Leonard Hagler.

agree, so overdone
hearns vs hagler is very overrated imo btw, its really just a one sided beatdown after like the first minute with no major drama turns or comeback etc. hearns legs just became rubbery so fast

Thankfully Douglas put paid to Tyson to ensure that he wasn't robbed, although that didn't stop King from trying, however, the way he surrended his title to Holyfield was pitiful.
He would never have beaten a peak Holyfield, but he had the size and the skillset to make Evander at least break sweat trying to beat him.
Abject performance for which he should be embarrassed.

They call it the best 9 minutes or something but I agree.. kinda like how Frazier vs. Foreman was so one-sided.

Douglas was winning that fight. I've never made notes despite I rewatch this great fight from time to time, but Douglas was edging it for sure, he was just outboxing Tyson.

Douglas didn't just ko Tyson, he really beat him up. A brilliant performance by Buster and a sad state of affairs for Tyson.

My opinion is, that night Buster Douglas beat the crap out of over-confident Mike Tyson, as the greatest heavyweight championship performance ever. At least in my opinion. I do believe on that night, Buster would have beaten any heavyweight ever. He was just "ON FIRE"! The way he moved around the ring, popping that jab, following up the jabs with some beautiful right-left-right combinations. He was highly motivated by his Mom's recent passing, he was "laser focused".
That beat-down he gave Tyson that night, would have probably KO'ed any heavyweight ever, except for maybe Ray Mercer, Oliver McCall and Vitaly Klitchko. But Buster's offensive onslaught would have beaten up those granite chinned heavyweights pretty bad too, on the way to a unanimous victory.

Right, but two of those are awful scores, and that's what he was saying.

I don't know if I'd go so far as to say Buster would've beaten any Heavyweight ever that night, but it was undoubtedly the best version of Buster any Boxing fan ever saw, and the best version of him that ever stepped into a ring. Like they said on the HBO Doc Legendary Nights about this night "For this one enormous occasion, he was going to be the fighter of his dreams"

So it would've been a draw then.
They can't fix a fight to a draw, so the champ obviously loosing the fight, keeps his belt.
Are you absolutely nuts?
That's just not to anticipate, impossible, unheard of, much too complicated to pull off, no way, never!
Sorry! But you MUST be an absolute moronic muppet of a motherfvcker/totally thick tool/clueless pudendum/ shitty shithouse & assholish CHILD toying on your mother's computer to even imply such thing, never even before thought of.

Who said “fix a draw”? The corrupted judges are paid to reward any non-dominant or KD round to the house fighter. But you’re right. Boxing isn’t rigged. What was I thinking, Internet gangster? If Tyson keeps his belt the Holyfield fight still happens and everyone gets paid, you imbecile. The notion that those scorecards weren’t influenced by corruption shows your complete and utter lack of any brain cells whatsoever. You’re probably one of those geniuses who thinks Tyson is the greatest heavyweight ever.

Sorry, my wife just told me, it wasn't clear enough me being sarcastic, i can't expect people to know what i mean. It was very rude. All good. Didn't mean one word of it. Meant the opposite and none of the insults (they were a mock aimed at some people's supershitty destructive conduct on this forum). I apologize sincerely & hope it gets through to u. My fault.
the tokio-fight was abviously fixed by king so tyson won't leave tokio without the belts, except he get's put away.

He was definitely not going to lose to any of his contemporaries that night but all-time is pushing it. Tyson just stood in front of him waiting to be hit. Other guys would've been moving more.
