Froch finally gets what he wanted. The fighters meet at 165 LBS.

They are both in their prime.

Statistics:

FROCH
6’ 1” (Height)
165 LBS (Weight)
75” (Reach)

CALZAGHE
5’ 11” (Height)
165 LBS (Weight)
73” (Reach)

I honestly cannot call this fight, Calzaghe has the speed, Froch has the power. What do you guys think?!

Calzaghe is much better than Froch, who'd have troubled with his speed and skill.

Calzaghe by 117-111 type decision.

Why 165 and not 168?

But Calzaghe by decision. He'd have to be alert for 12 rounds though

Froch could give him a fight, but Calzaghe was more subtle, he would have probably edged the decision.

Loved Froch's career and Carl got himself out of a few holes with his strength, fitness and desire to keep swinging and he was a fighter who good men found hard to beat on the night despite fancying the job. His resume is more than decent.

And if you were not on your game or switched off then Carl would take you out.....Groves and Bute know that all too well.

But it feels like another Ward fight for Froch I think.....he's definitely got Joe's respect and complete attention, he's not being mugged off but he can't quite get close enough or land a shot that forces his man to have a dog fight.

And like Ward......Joe's always busy, scoring and nabbing the rounds.

Maybe I am being hard on Carl......he turned boxer against Abraham (and did it well) and Kessler got a surprise second time round......but I think Joe still wins by UD.

Calzaghe for me,just better all round fighter, far from easy though and might have a scare along the way.

Calzaghe was too quick and versatile for Carl. He was a one-off, who actually even gave him a hard fight? Hardly anyone

Vey few Noxy.........but Eubank is on that list and Mitchell did not rock-up in Cardiff for the cheque and caused ructions.

Kessler who was proper quality seems to have be someone Joe also rated; a good fight to watch even now.

I do still wonder a bit about Froch though; Froch could make things suddenly happen in fights and even after several lousy rounds and looking like the opponent or a champ who'd found his level.

That was so often Carl's thing - he'd find a punch, still be there late in the day - he was a massive nuisance and if you gave him an early chance he'd slot folk as well.

In short, betting against Froch was never bright unless it was someone exceptional like Ward in the other corner.
