I know he beat Dempsey. Not sure if Dempsey ever beat him again in subsequent rematches. I didn't look it up, I have that one filed away in the memory banks from the 100 Greatest Punchers issue of The Ring which I've read cover to cover dozens of times.

"The Guy He Couldn't Kayo" section of each fighter bio, and Meehan was the guy Dempsey couldn't do anything with. I have that issue too.

The binding on mine is starting to tear, and the magazine is starting to kinda tear away from the cover because I've read it so much
Ah well, I never intended to get rid of it anyway so I'll keep it, and read back through it some more when I take the notion no matter how tattered it gets.

All my pages literally fell out

so I had to put it all back together in order, so I read it sparingly now but it's a good issue. I'm nostalgic for printed magazine's and miss seeing RING, KO, etc on the shelves.

Dempsey is NOT the answer to number two: Meehan was 2-1-2 against Dempsey, Dempsey was able to squeeze out one 4 rounds PTS victory only.
The 'guy he couldn't beat' would make for a good thread to post; what year was
The Ring Magazine?
Hearns-Barkley jumps to mind.

That particular issue was 2003 I believe. Maybe 2004.
I could easily post all of the "The Guy He Couldn't Beat" entries from it as I always found it a fascinating read, and I'm sure those of you who haven't got the chance to read the magazine would enjoy it too.

Im going to go with Moran and Langford. Langford Im sure of Moran is a guess. If not Moran then my fallback is Brennan. Im waffling on those two.
