Andrew Golota vs Hasim Rahman

What are your thoughts on this matchup? At different stages of their careers. At the late 90s they both defeated Jesse Ferguson with a year difference. In the mid 00s both of them were considered as top fighters. At that time Golota met three other top US competitors of the era, he arguably won, but drawn vs Byrd, arguably won, but lost vs Ruiz, and got battered by Brewster. Rahman was a missing top American opponent for Golota and he also had his row of controversial bouts after his upset over Lewis and following defeat to him. So, they were close to face each other, but obviously they didn't.

I'd favour Golota here both in the late 90s and mid 00s. Golota came back in the 00s in a pretty good shape. With a combination of size advantage and a better skillset Golota was all wrong for Rahman. I'd pick Golota to take a clear decision over Rahman. Hasim's chances of winning were in finding the opening, hurting Golota and developing the success by pressuring damaged Golota, cause in such cases Andrew was frequntly losing. But still this wouldn't have been an easy task for Rahman, Golota was more likely to win, I'd say.

Similar result to Golata/Grant. Andrew ahead for early part...gets into trouble and falls apart. Rahman 9th round TKO.
