Good Topic/Thread.
Personally,i use them, and have been, rather consistently, for a good dedicated span of several months,
actually more, technically, but as far as consistency, yeah,a few good straight on months of incorporating
resistance bands, along with a steady diet of the iron(DumbBell's Mainly)(Only 25-30 lbs) for basic simple
manuevers such as curls and overheads.
I just like the feel of free weights, even if only using them in such a light format, compared to yesteryear.
But with Resistance bands,i genuinely found More than just merely a good solid supplemental resistance training
addition/alternative. Like Scooby1961 basically emphasized, they are Very Legit resistance training additions to a Solid Program. In other words, they are nothing to scoff at,providing you get the right ones for the job.
I use 3 different ones currently. A Blue one that i wrap around in a double layer,an additional yellow one that i'll combine with the blue one,and then i have this so called chest expander one, that i do overhead and sideways overhead presses with,as in,looking like i'm in training to use a gigantic bow and arrow apparatus. But yeah, also,i have one of those metal spring chest expander apparatuses, which i use for seated rows.
I get compliments at my job. My program seems to be Really paying off.
I cant lift big gigantic heavy free weights anymore, but the resistance bands seem to fill the otherwise Gaps that
would be having me look like i'm completely failing at life. But when all is said and done,i Really get a Great Pump
from using these resistance bands. Overheads and tricep pressdowns, and rows with the old school metal one.
It's incredible to get a Great Invigorating workout at 50. I appreciate it more than i used to.
