I found it interesting to read that Joseph Parker, after knocking out Alex Flores, went back to work demanding a rematch with Dillian Whyte. I had figured a more patient 'way back' for Parker after his two disappointing losses to both Whyte and Joshua. But upon hearing this latest development, I'm thinking it's the best approach, especially if Parker's new mean look is for real. Avenge his two losses. Comments?

Pretty normal to want a second chance. I’m sure he has regrets. Whether he’ll get one is another question. Maybe bigger and better options for Whyte. Parker needs to keep it up and maybe he’ll get lucky.

I like the guy. I hope he gets his wish, but it may be longer than he wants as there remains a vacant seat at Wembley in April, which Whyte may be sitting in.

Whyte is already way past fighting Parker. He has several high-profile options that don't involve Parker. Just a pointless fight for Whyte all around.

Parker should fight Huey Fury, Lucas Browne, or Junior Fa. Rematching Ruiz or fighting Jennings would also be ideal.

What he should do is one thing, I'm just saying that I expected a more patient road back and not for him to go after top 5 guys just yet, as you are saying.

Lucas Browne would be a very winnable and financially beneficial fight for him in NZ or Australia.

It'll be a step back for Whyte. Whyte has established himself above Parker and should fight another top contender like Miller to define a challenger. Parker should fight some around the top 10 contenders like Breazeale or Kownacki.

Amongst the top 5/6 Parker and Ortiz are now definitely on the outside looking in.

Perhaps one of them could get Miller next, and the other face Usyk? Meanwhile Whyte, Joshua, Wilder and Fury can sort out the podium places amongst themselves first.

That way we're guaranteed at least 4 great HW matchups next year.

Parker's fans in NZ and Samoa paid to see him with Flores. They are rabid casuals. The comments on his Farcebook are a tribute to that.

Well, yeah, but formally it's better to be the challenger, there's always a chance, etc, etc.

Parker should face the Jennings/Rivas winner and move on from there.

There’s no reason for Whyte to engage in a rematch with Parker at this point in time, because the Brit has bigger fish to fry, as he’s on the cusp of receiving a world title shot.

And if Parker keeps winning, then by the time Whyte has beaten Chisora, got KO’d again by AJ and then taken at least six months away from the sport to recover, the Kiwi will probably not be interested in rematching the Brit, because Joseph may have already worked his way to the very front of the world title shot queue.

I really can’t any reason for Parker and Whyte to consider engaging in a rematch within the next couple of years.

I agree. Under the circumstances (Whyte in line for title shot when he gets past Chisora) Parker needs to look elsewhere. I like him facing Jennings/Rivas winner and then face a top 10 fighter on his way to perhaps another shot at the title. Parker has a lot to prove, but he's only 26, and the youngest of the top 10 contenders.

I don't believe Whyte will face Parker again, at least in 2019.
