Do you think Rocky will be able to bounce back? Should we care after such an abysmal performance? Will you ever pay to see him fight again? Let's debate!

I hope he invests that 1.3 million dollars very well. Because he is not a top fighter

He's just not an elite fighter. This doesn't mean he's not good, and doesn't perhaps have some solid wins in him at European level, but he's not a World Level kinda guy.

So Rocky got beat easily by one of the best fighters on the planet in his first real step into elite level boxing and now that makes him useless ? I take it there are a few newcomers to the sport on here ?

For me it was his approach to the fight. He's tall and long and never attempted to create distance with his jab. WTF was he thinking? I'm terribly frustrated by his performance.

Wouldnt blame Rocky for that mate, he was in with a top level player, closing the distance on a euro level guy will be childs play for canelo, Rocky just didnt have the experience or ability at that level to compete.

Whether or not he could have is irrelevant, as he himself said he used the wrong tactic. He didn't try to fight at distance. We never got a chance to see if he could. I agree that he probably still would've lost had he tried, as Canelo is monstrous.

Its not irrelevant, if he could have fought at distance then he would have, Rocky, his entire team and everybody watching knew he had to fight long but Canelo took that option off the table with his better feet and there was nothing Rocky could do about it, the "wrong tactic" comment should be taken with a pinch of salt because there is no way Rocky or his team would have thought it a good idea to fight Canelo so close.

I agree no way SHOULD they have thought so. I'll take the comment with a grain of salt as you say, but I'm still done with Rocky.

his gameplan was so wrong but even if they would allow him to kick as well he wouldn't beat Canelo

It's obvious you are correct. Just frustrating that he didn't seem to try to use distance at all.

He did, canelo just closed it and to be fair if you have ever taken a bodyshot like Fielding did you will realise that his legs would be pretty weak making it even harder to create some distance between them.

OH yes, I'm aware of how paralyzing those body shots are. Maybe I had too high expectations of Fielding, given his height and reach advantage, OR, I'm still underestimating Canelo. Oh well ,won't be the first time, won't be the last.

Might sound harsh, but it's true. I've been watching Boxing so long, and watched PPV's become so overpriced that there's nobody left that I'd pay PPV prices to watch. I see it for free or I'll find something else to do that night.

I stopped buying PPV's when Mike Tyson decided to feast on Evander's ears.
