How does Ronald McIntosh keep getting work?

He's here again tonight on the BT card and he's already making my skin crawl. His commentary is the most irritating verbose nonsense and his interviews are stilted and offer no insight.
I don't begrudge him making a living but surely I can't be the only one who's enjoyment of a night of boxing is spoiled by him. When I listen to him I can genuinely see new fans of the sport being turned away by his inaccessible rambling.

What dirt does he have on the big wigs at ITV and BT that makes them keep hiring him?!

They are, admittedly, magnificent. Wouldn't want to throw a salvo and catch your hands on one of those bad boys.

You know the answer is diversity quotas.

Unfortunately I think you are right.

The BBC spent £50k if our money training the multi millionaire ex-footballer Dion Dublin to improve his presentation skills.

They then made up a job for him in Homes Under the Hammer.

I agree. He seems like a very nice guy, but his style of commentary gets right on my tits.

:verysad: He’s obviously a nice bloke and everyone likes him, so I guess that’s why he keeps getting hired but he really is terrible and clearly, an idiot.

He sounds like someone who has been pulled out of theatre school and is permanently stuck in that style of talking. It's odd.

How tall is McIntosh? I remember seeing him stood next to one of the really big/tall heavies (although I've forgotten who it was now) and he was still a fair bit taller than him! He's like fornicating lurch.

Yeah for sure. Although what excuse did we have for Adam Smith, Jim McNeilly, Nick Halling or any other boxing commentator that is continually put down?
Too many black fellas getting an easy ride eh

Adam, Jim and Nick have their annoying idiosyncrasies but all are broadcast quality. Ron is nowhere near broadcast quality. He has literally no talent. He is god defeatingly awful.

Jim Neilly and McIntosh are clearly the worst commentators, worse than Smith

Lord no. Smith is worst in my book, sorry, I mean Froch and his ever present ego is worst, Adam Smith second.
Ron's alright.
Commentators are set to be hated whatever they do.

Not true, I don't give many commentators stick, in fact only the 3 above!

Harry Carpenter, Reg Gutteridge and Ian Darke aren't hated. They were too good at their job to be hated. The Alan Patridge type character who was on Screensport in 89 is hated to his day because he was objectively awful.

The real question the OP should have posed is why posters feel the need to lie to themselves about Ron McIntosh. He is unlistenable and they know it.
