Made the bulk of his career in the prairie and Rocky Mountains. Most were just ranchers, miners, lumberjacks, etc. Some were even pro wrestlers in hybrid rules matches--- back when state athletic commissions oversaw both and you could stage boxing and wrestling matches on a card. Essentially he was like Toughman champion turn pro boxer "Big" John Poore.
