Who would win in their light heavyweight match up in 15 rounds between former two-time WBA Champion Victor Galindez and another former WBA Champion Vicente Rondon? To me, Galindez would swarm Rondon all over the ring and pounded him for a decision or stopped him in 14 rounds. What do you think?

Galindez would have eaten Rondon for lunch. Inside 5. I was a big fan of Galindez in the mid seventies when we had all sorts of good fighters at LHW. Jorge Ahumada; John Conteh; Bob Foster; Eddie "Flame" Gregory (Eddie Mustafa Muhamud); etc. Up to and including Marvin Johnson.

Yes, Galindez would have eaten Rondon alive for lunch and it would be as bad for Rondon as the Bob Foster fight. Also, Galindez fought in the Golden era of the light heavyweights.

Wonder if Conteh could handle Rondon as easily as Galindez could potentially could?

John Conteh was a bit underrated. He beat Rondon pretty handily but Rondon's better days were behind him. I remember him getting all kinds of hype in my Boxing Illustrated's but he never really panned out.

Pretty good fighter but never seemed to get 'over the top.' Best win: Yaqui Lopez?

Rondon was fading when the Golden Age of the Light Heavyweights came around and Yaqui Lopez was one of the best challengers in any division never won a major world title. I wonder would Lopez win any belts in today's era when the IBF and WBO was created?

It's funny we don't (this forum) look so much at LHW. That was the golden era and I'm not sure how Lopez would've faired. Sounds like an interesting exercise to look at those '70's LHW's vs Today's.
