Ohara Davies aims to begin a knockout streak in 2019 and leave nothing to the judges for the rest of his career.

‘Two Tanks’ (18-2-KO14) was outpointed by world-ranked Jack Catterall in a surprisingly tactical affair back in October and with the super-lightweight division buzzing, Davies is preparing for a statement of resurgence.

Davies said: “I’m thinking I’ll be back in the ring in April or May. I’ve got to work on a few things and bring back the old OD. When I say that, I mean knocking guys out with the ruthlessness I had in the past.

“I’ve been enjoying my time off. This year has been a really hard year – I’ve been in camp for most of it – so it was time to relax. I was the biggest I’ve ever been but I’ve started back training now.

“As my career has gone on, it’s become about hitting and not getting hit. Before I was hitting and knocking guys out and I think that’s what I need to bring back. That’s the one we’ll see when I return to the sport.

“Joe Hughes just won the EBU title and I wouldn’t mind taking him on because that’s a decent belt. That’s the only name I can think of off the top of my head and prospective opponents are the last thing on my mind right now. I’ll look at the options with MTK Global and allegedly in the new year and look at the options.

“I’ll be knocking everyone out from now on. I plan on getting everyone out of there.”

He has a pretty decent KO ratio.. But who has he fought?

He's had a tough upbringing, as many fighters have, but he keeps acting the tit and loses any sympathy. I think he means well and is a decent person ultimately but someone needs to sort him out.

He talked shjt so people got interested and wanted to see him get beat. Problem with doing that is you have got to be able to back up your shjt talk and that's where the problem lies.

It weren't the judges that robbed no one it was both the fighters that robbed us of our time

He has youth, reasonable power, motivation to train, and a fairly good team behind him.
He can come back, but I don't think power alone will help him reach the B level internationally.
There are some fundamental flaws in his defence which need work. Power is great, but even (at the time) a relatively inexperienced Josh Taylor was countering Davies all over the place.
I would wish him all the best, if he didn't come across as such a d*ck all the time

At least Catterall is honest about it. Davies will talk smack and then either quit in the fight or throw nothing all night.

He'd be best off taking the Prince Patel route if he wants to knock everyone out

I think he needs to start again, and rebuild from a lower level.

He does have youth on his side, but he's been exposed quite badly. Anyone decent would be favoured to take a win away from him at the moment.

I don’t understand how there are so many fighters with a lack of footwork like him. If he could move while he was throwing he’d be a force.

OD in talking absolute garbage shocker, he iced the guy he boxed before Catterall and then shat it in the Catterall fight and barely threw a right hand. Feed him some bums and he'll KO them, but he'll never win vs. a skilled technical fighter
