Johann Duhaupas said he's willing to fight either Filip Hrgovic or Joe Joyce. He believes he can knock either out in 8 rounds or less. I think he's setting himself up for gatekeeper role.

He'd make a great gatekeeper, IMHO. He certainly isn't going to win any major belts!

would be a very good test for either. durable guy with enough offense to beat some fighters outside top 20. he showed unreal chin vs wilder

I'd say the bigger hitter, Joyce as Duhaupas isn't known for being difficult to hit.

Hrgovic not ready for the version of Duhaupas that fought Wilder, In about 5 fights Hrgovic would be ready for that version of Duhaupas. As it stands now it would probably be a very hard fight for Hrgovic 50-50 so why take the risk, let Hrgovic fight a few more times and he will be read for these type of fights. Wilder fought Duhaupas in his 35th pro fight, Hrgovic has had 7 pro fights. The only caveat to to all this is if Duhaupas has degraded since the Wilder fight then that is a different ball of wax, If I was Hrgovic people I would wait at least 3-5 more fights before fighting Duhaupas.

I would be pleased to see Duhaupas get a crack at trying to take down either of these prospects. He is one of the top gatekeepers and not to be taken lightly.

Joyce is a huge puncher, which Breazeale is not. Also, Joyce mixes it up; where Breazeale rope a dopes. Joyce more dangerous, even though Hrgovic may be a better boxer.

Joyce is more accurate than breazeale. He's every bit as slow. Makes him less dangerous IMO.

Joyce is more accurate than breazeale. He's every bit as slow. Makes him less dangerous IMO.

Hrgovic is very consistent with his pattern of punching. He throws 3 straight left jabs and then comes over with a strong overhand right. IMO, he needs to mix up his style a bit or he's going to experience a vicious (possible KO type) counter.

Luck abd good judgement is a powerful combination

oooohhh yeah Duhaupas was already predict for Hrgović last fight, than came Perea he dug 2 days before the fight, so Johnson become his chance... or better no chance.

I wouldn’t expect Duhuapas next for either of these guys, Joyce in particular needs to get a move on however, Johan would be a great opponent for Joe just before he faces a top ten guy.

I guess it depends who is willing to fight him. On the one hand he's a six fight novice, on other there are less than ten heavyweights in the world I might pick to beat him. Taken together those two observations don't really make him the most appealing of potential opponents.

Duhaupas got big balls and understands where he is at.
The Joyce/Hrgovic handlers should get the cheque book out and have their man tested!
