The movie premiered in September in Brazil and today premieres as a four part mini-series. From what I'm told it's parts of the movie, with some scenes that didn't make it and testimonials from individuals such as his son, Marcel. The movie will then be available on DVD and with English subtitles for those of us that don't speak Portuguese.

Here is the synopsis of the four parts premiering tonight and going on until Friday. You can watch these online but I am waiting to see if they are available with the use of subtitles.

Part 1, 38 mins
Éder Jofre follows the tradition of the family by choosing boxing as a profession. But he needs to learn to deal with the anxieties of his girlfriend, who suffers from seeing him hurt after the fights.

Part 2, 41 mins
Following the discipline of his father and coach, Éder Jofre becomes the first Brazilian boxing champion in the world. Success also helps to fund the brother's cancer treatment.

Part 3, 31 mins
World champion, Éder Jofre fashions his family while his father continues to fight to keep his son's dedication to boxing. Divided between profession and family, Éder thinks about stopping.

Part 4, 25 mins
Éder Jofre counts on the support of the family in the return to the rings. Masahiro Harada, the only one to defeat him; son Marcel and commentator Newton Campos give testimony about the champion.

The above was shown in Brazil last night from the 50th anniversary of his bantamweight title win in 1960.

Me too! I'm awaiting word if this mini-series is going to be available with subtitles. I'll keep you posted on the matter. I spoke to his son yesterday. He told me that he watched the fight with Jose Legra and for the first time in 45 years saw himself on the footage. You can see him near the end of the video looks like Brazilian radio is trying to interview him after the fight. You can see him at 1 hour 28 mins 30 seconds onward.
