Ruiz signed up with Al Haymon. Wondering where he's been? According to sources, Ruiz bought out the remainder of his promotional agreement with Top Rank.
Haymon has numerous heavyweight fighters under his banner, including WBC world champion Deontay Wilder, Dominic Breazeale, Efe Ajagba, Joe Joyce, Gerald Washington, Charles Martin, Adam Kownacki, Michael Hunter, Luis Ortiz and several others.
He at least provides another live body to the heavyweight picture. I was wondering what happened to him.

Is it really promotional issues that keeps Ruiz Jr. away from the ring? Seems like there is more to it since he rarely fights. He shouldn't be fighting twice a year under any circumstance since he's not even a champion. Very good fighter, though. I'd absolutely love to see him fight Kownacki.

Hope he still wants it enough to train properly.
Kownacki is the perfect fight for him, love to see that

Does this mean he's intending to have a fight?

He admitted the year out he had was done purposely. He was quite an active boxer before he fought Parker. He started investing and spending more time with his family.
He returned in 2018, there was a few push backs though.

I read about Ruiz Jr. signing with Al Haymon and I believe it’s a good move since there are a lot of heavyweights affiliated to the PBC stable. Top Rank had very few and Bob Arum seemed reluctant to match them up against each other.
It’s clear that Al Haymon and Eddie Hearn are able to work with each other, very frequently, so Andy’s made a very good career move, as it may also open the doors for him to face Matchroom fighters as well.

And loser of that fight will not get boxing license renewed until he lose at least 20 pounds. Can´t stand these fatties

Ruiz is a disappointment.

Nothing live about Ruiz or his body. He'll likely never have a significant fight again. He's a wacko food addict.

LOL! Certainly don't expect anything more than him being another stepping stone fighter really. No compliment to being called live-body, but I get your point. I'm no fan of Ruiz. Too fat, too much...maybe he needs food therapy.

If he got serious about his weight he'd be a light heavy or cruiser. He lacks the skills for those divisions. I'm more concerned with whatever mental issues he has that made him pull out of fights without offering a reason. It's definitely not Arum's fault here, a lazy blobslob like Andy digs his own grave.
