What do you think? IMO he can beat champs at 122 and 126

I think he still gives hell to anyone at 122. I think he would fair well against any of them and win a world title, the only 122 pounder I think that would be a problem would be WBO chamomile Navverete due to the size difference between him and Rigo.

I totally agree. IMO he never should have made the jump to 130 to face Loma, but he let shyster Bob Arum sucker him into it.

But at age 38 he needs to do it soon, because he has already shown signs of slippage.

He's 38 and still beaten nobody even half decent since 2013!

Who knows if he even still has it anymore? He's looked at least slightly faded, even against the opponents he has beat lately. He needs to test himself before he jumps in with any champions.

At 122 he may still have enough left, but if he's aiming bigger, he needs to look no higher than someone like Jo Jo Diaz or the Davis/Mares loser. If he wins that, then he can look for a title.

Basically anybody from Featherweight on down is done being Elite by the time they hit their mid 30's. In the smaller weight classes exceptional speed is absolutely essential to winning big fights. That kinda speed doesn't stick with you as you age. This is why you see the smaller guys' careers and primes hit the wall before the bigger guys.

Rigondeaux will never win another major victory in Boxing. He may get another big fight where he'll lose, but he'll never get another major win. Not at 38.

I 100% guarantee I won't be. It's all over for Rigo, but the losing again. He can beat up 16-8 guys for another couple years if he wants to, but he ain't beating no top guys ever again. I have zero doubt about that.

Damn I didn't even realize that Rigo was still technically the recognized Champion at 122. At least 7 of these guys could take that title from him.

1 Rey Vargas 32-0-0 (22) MEX 1
2 Emanuel Navarrete 26-1-0 (22) MEX 2
3 Daniel Roman 26-2-1 (10) USA 3
4 TJ Doheny 20-0-0 (14) IRE 4
5 Isaac Dogboe 20-1-0 (14) GHA 5
6 Jessie Magdaleno 25-1-0 (18) USA 6
7 Ryosuke Iwasa 25-3-0 (16) JPN 7
8 Shingo Wake 25-5-2 (17) JPN 8
9 Diego De La Hoya 21-0-0 (10) MEX 9
10 Franklin Manzanilla 18-4-0 (17) VEN 10

The weakness of 122, compared to the divisions within side of it, is the only reason I said Rigo MAY still have enough to win a title there. I still have my doubts though, and he'd have to be quite selective in which champion he went for.

My gut says the Donaire win will remain the only really good win of his entire career. What a waste.
