This Friday on b/nation, Heavyweight action between former world title challenger Jennings and unbeaten Colombian Rivas, haven't seen much of Jennings since the back to back losses to Klitschko and Ortiz, he's on a 5 fight winning streak and coming off a KO win over Dimitrenko, noticed he was dropped in that fight so maybe he's a bit vulnerable since Ortiz walked through him?

Havent seen Rivas before, he's fought his whole career in Canada, 25-0 with 17 early, some familiar gatekeeper types on his record but no stand out wins yet, if he can stop Jennings then that would be a decent scalp

I was a bigger fan of his prior to the Maldanado fight, when Rivas seemed destined for better things. Last couple of fights he underperformed, or is at a lower level then I had hoped. He's a bit of an enigma. I'm looking forward to this fight. We should have clearer insight on both fighters. Jennings hasn't really been tested since his two losses. He was decked by Dimentreko early in their fight, although he TKO'd him later on, as you mentioned.

Rivas looked like he had decent ability but lacked that 'x-factor' the last time I watched him. Jennings will be in good shape and has good skills - his lack of size will be a factor against the top HW's but he can beat Rivas on points imo. It'd be a good win for either man.

Be surprised if Rivas does much of note from here on out. Jennings could be his peak, we shall see.

Hello mate.

Jennings made Dimitrenko look good (well, good for Dimitrenko, like) for a few rounds or so in that fight. He was clubbed on the side of the head for the knockdown & his legs kinda gave out—like you said, the Ortiz fight might've taken his punch resistance. Bryant's pressure got to him in the end but Jennings had to work far harder than he should've had to, if you get my drift.

I think Jennings's Gridiron (that was it, wasn't it?) background comes out when he faces a big guy who even slightly knows what to do, but Rivas is only about six-foot tall, isn't he?

As you say, it's an almost impossible one to predict 'cos we don't know what Jennings has left & Rivas has never had an equal fight, but from the brief highlights I've seen Rivas at least looks like he can punch a bit & Jennings's legs did not look good when he got hit vs Dimitrenko.

So Rivas stops Jennings in the last round literally right out of nowhere, it was a dreadful fight, real lack of urgency and quality from both men, I had Rivas a couple of rounds in front at the end but most of the rounds were tight and it was hard to split them when neither guy were landing meaningful shots, Jennings looked the better boxer but is lazy and doesn't put enough on his punches most of the time, Rivas looks strong but stiff, I liked his body punching, now and again he'd flurry to the body and I gave him a few rounds on the back of those shots

It was a poor spectacle for 11 rounds but in the 12th, Rivas came out straight away and rocked Jennings, a follow up barrage had him down and just making the count, Rivas never let him off the hook and once he trapped Jennings on the ropes and let the leather fly a couple of shots rocked the head of Jennings back and the ref rightly stepped in
