If he fights and beats Stiverne and Ortiz in 2019.. amongst maybe another fight, it would be a very good year for him.

Seems like signing with PBC has been good for him.

Joyce will likely overwhelm stiverne

Stiverne at 41(?) a step up and maybe gets Joyce to a next fight against a top 25 Joyce in 6 or less. A few HW matches being announced in the last day. Getting interesting, or at least busy!

Joyce has gone on record saying he beat Stiverene up in sparring when he first turned pro so I guess he knows what to expect. Stiverene is shot though isnt he?

Richard Poxon, UK Promoter for PBC, said, “I’ve known Joe from his amateur days up in Sheffield. His success at the Olympics didn’t surprise me at all. He’s transitioned well to the pros now and is clearly in a hurry. The heavyweight division is the one that everyone is looking at again and I fully expect Joe to be in the thick of the action in the coming year. Taking on a former WBC World Champion in only your eighth fight clearly shows what Joe’s ambitions are.”

Nah. Stiverne had already retired before the second Wilder fight. He comes in to the ring in even worse condition and falls early.

Any odds on Stiverne throwing more than two punches in the fight?

Stiverne brings zero motivation into this.

As long as Joyce doesn’t run chin first into something (he has a tendency to do this) he will get Stiverne out of there with his first sustained attack.

Definitely worth keeping an eye on the weigh-in for this one. If Stiverne turns up in the same shape as he did for Wilder 2, I’m putting my house on a Joyce early ko.
